Thinking of doing a trip up to Auckland this weekend (probably via Hawkes Bay), was wondering if anyone can give me a heads up on the conditions?
Is there likely to be any sketchy parts with ice aside from the desert road?
Weather looks good for it...

Nope. If you travel through HB and you do ride Napier - Taupo outside night time you be fine.
