first time ive seen a TDM of the seal, they advertise them as dual sport but ive never thought of them as such, always wondered how they would go on the metal, bloody good donkeys in them too
as for the Honda, a very cool classic

Bollocks, get of your arse and go get it
Enjoyed mine: stonking engine, suspension, brakes & lighting - must admit that it spent more time around twice the speed limit than any other bike I've had- but once I tried to ride it off-road I realised it was the wrong bike for me. Certainly rode lots of dirt roads on it, 4wd tracks etc, all on the street tyres. That was still during the time (my time?) when adventure was all about riding road bikes on the dirt.
Would do smoky third gear burnouts on dry hardpack clay

Yeah but the name... Doomed from the beginning...
Its coming to something when an old TDM is considered cool.
Isn't that where your engine went to?
Came and went.
TDM850 w/ 360 degree crank
to TRX850 w/ 270 degree crank
back to TDM850 with 270 deg.

Cool should conjure up images of something that stands out from the ordinary dross,
something a little different that others might respect or admire.
Nobbly tyres on a road bike and a TDM are seriously not "cool".
Mr Clarkson would be pissing himelf if he thought this lot were the best
that bikers could aspire to.
come on lets see something special. Factory one offs or home built specials
that are more than a fancy paint job and bolt on accessories
Sure a TDM is cool: as you say, it stands out from the ordinary dross, something a little bit different. Almost unclassifiable. "New Sports" they called it, a streetified Super Ten. Was there anything similar before? The Versys & Vee Strom are contemporary copies, perhaps the Tiger is too.
Park one up in just about any line up of bikes and it'd be the one ppl went to, looked at and asked questions about. That's gotta be some kind of cool. It's the one cops made an effort to pull over so they could have a closer look (that was uncool).
