both twits got what they deserved; the munter cruising up the side, while not going THAT fast, clearly wasn't paying much attention

meanwhile the munter who pulls out really should/could have had a better look, otherwise he wouldn't have pulled out at all

have a gander at the 50 survival skills thread, lots of common sense in there that I agree with and that is one of them. It is difficult to judge motorcycles speed as most of the time we are just a dot of light in the mirror from a distance.
    Read my last sentence.

I still think that if the guy turning had checked his mirrors to gauge what the bike is actually doing he would've easily avoided the accident.

That "nutter" overtaker was only 50m or so away when the turner started turning.

If someone's in the other lane overtaking, they are obviously not pootling along at the same speed as the rest of the group, maybe it'd be a good idea not to pull out!

So in my opinion, the turner did not check his mirror at all. If he had, he would've seen a guy in the overtaking lane and even if you couldn't judge his speed it'd be stupid to turn in front of him without waiting to make sure that you know what he's doing.

When you pass a line of slow cars, don't you do it with a high speed differential if possible?

right, looking at that again i don't think the guy actually checked his mirrors, and the guy passing up sthe side had enough room to dodge him if he hadn't panicked and locked up the rear

    WATCH THIS!

BAM! and biker...I mean dirt is gone.

C'mon people, lets all estimate the speed of collision. Notice the car move a fair chunk sideways.

I give the biker a 6 for his/her triple front sommersault...landing was poor.

I do enjoy these hih speed track ones.

I do feel sorry for the ones taken out by the idiots not looking before they get back on the track or those hitting the 200Kg of debris.

Quite correct there, the taking of all 'practicable steps' probably has saved a few people in past accidents.....Glad I am not in other countries...

Indeed, but in that scenario where the rider has impacted at tremendous speedm the rider and most probably the driver/passenger of the vehicle has suffered extreme injuries/are dead.

Note the rider is lying with his his head close to the vehicle and in a pretty mangled pile....as a pedestrian what should one do? There is probably blood everywhere, an injured, dying or dead person in the car who might have horrific injuries.

Many pedestrians would panic, many would not want to touch anything for fear of cauding further harm.

In this instance what should someone do?

I would have check for signs of life, but after that? The motorcyclist is lying face down, now I've read the "how to remove a helmet" thread, but im sure that was for the possibilty of a lying on his back rider.

considering the speed that biker was doing i'd say it might not be entirely the cager's fault. In fact, i'd say it was entirely the biker's fault; even if the cager looked the bike would have been "ages" away when they initiated the turn, and at unexpectedly high speed they would have easily (and understandably) misjudged the speed of such a small, distant object.

then again, it always appals me at how cagers fail to guage the incoming speed of vehicles, including that of tucks they are pulling infront of.

Didnt realise the camera had panned left during the clip to show the view of the straight road from which the rider must've come
