Should I take the bike or the cage this w/e?

I need to be in Wellington at 9am on Saturday for a conference. Means a 5am start from Napier. Conference takes all day. Then at 4.30pm I will travel to New Plymouth and stay there the night. Sunday I will travel back to Napier through the park and Taupo. Planning to be in Napier approx 6pm on Sunday.

Now the weather is packing up and no matter what weather service I chek they all promise rain for Sat and Sun in Napier, Wellington, NP and Taupo. So clearly I will get wet. I don't have any hi tech wet weather gear. And ride with open face helmet.

I am still considering doing the trip on the bike. At 4am on saturday I will make the final decision. But I have the bike gear all packed.

Or should I just whimp out and take the company car?

May the bridges I burn light the way.

    What bike?

And are you sure it actually exists at that absurd hour? I'm far from convinced that anything actually exists so early .

Lo tech works too man get to the warehouse before it closes, yellow platics very dry as overcoats in a pinch
Open face helmets a worry in rain- but I have done it before - your call how hardy do ya feel?

No one would hold the cage againsta ya...(for too long anyway)
    Just ride.

Take the bike. The met geeks always over state the weather. Besides there's plenty of dry air between rain drops.

I want to see you riding again.
HTFU might be the common responce
but common sense states that the cage in this instance is the sencible thing to use.
As much as riding a bike is your first love, the love of life and the love of those that love you are more important then the concideration of those who do not live in your life.
Take the bike and you might not see tomorrow when you concider the weather.
Take the cage and Know that you will be there to ride the bike tomorrow.

Weather reports suck and more often than not are wrong,as you posted leave it until the last minute,if its not raining in your space then hit the starter button and go.

If you really want to ride it, then why the thread?

Also, www.metvuw.co.nz is a better site for forecasts if you're not already using it, but as you say, rain it is.

Hmm. I guess its a question of "Will it affect you at work if you show up at the conference looking like a drowned rat?"

    If no then ride.

The critical bit would be the Welly leg. If you can stay dry you will be set for the day.
