    Is is idiot day today?

    yeah i'm bored...

but seriously, everyone on the road, even pedestrians, seem to be on a whole new level of stupid today. I only commute from Mt Eden to Uni, but I came across more idiots today than I have the whole of last week. Maybe the Stupid Convention is in town. One golden moment was as I was turning into cp36 a van had parked across the entrance and seemed to be turning out; they were certainly moving that way. Remembering auckland drivers can be IDIOTS i approached the entrance around the back of the van cautiously and lo and behold, she starts to reverse into me. So i stop and wait, my bike's ass sticking out into the road, while she performs some sort of ridiculous 32-point turn. I don't want to continue around her as she keeps reversing, so i have to wait. Eventually she gets out of the way.

Pedestrians seem borderline suicidal. I had to rev my little FXR as loud as i could to get them out of the way coming down albert st.

And for once the computer building labs were full. I have to contend with the brain-exploding combination of vista + mac. This space bar is driving me nuts. I keep accidentally right-clicking (i mean, ffs, if you're going to give up and stick a right-click function in there, at least separate the fucking buttons).

KB needs moar drama. I'm fucking bored. Yet i still have compsci shit to do.

I had the fun one. Was following behind a nice sv1000 turning right onto grafton from symonds, and he was a bit slow off the lights, went round, me behind him, then this gruop of asians was walking towards the center line, as they do, quite high up unusually, and they stopped. Then they started walking into his line, and I was to his right so definetely in my line. Then stopped, then moved forward, then sorta moved back a bit, stopped. They were about 1/4 of the actual lane, not including the car space on the left, from the centerline

its been idiot week as far as i have seen on the road... had some fool in a pergeot trying to race me to whanga (in my cage) racing like all bollocks to corners, overcooking them and then slowing down to 30 after them... madness! If ya can't drive quickly.... don't

2 second rule extends to the 10 second + confused look rule....

Must be the weather, the spin on the planets or perhaps we are just becoming more aware and they've been there the whole time...

Today was a good commuting day, average speed of all traffic flow in fast lane was up near 115kph, as opposed to sitting behind someone in the right hand lane at 95kph. Makes my trip that much more friendly, didn't even have to lane split today.

Could just be Jaffa lands turn, it was Welly 'idiots afternoon' last week
In 200meters, from my park at work heading homeon Friday I had:

HIT one pedestrian who ran past the front of a stationary bus into a lane that had green light (yes, knocked the silly pratt off his feet too- 30 minutes lost reporting the circumstances to the plod)-

Barely missed 2 others within 30 seconds of leaving that scene- (all runnning accross multi lanes in rush hour)

Saw a scooter rider go up the ass of a VW Combi van (like she couldnt see that MOUNTAIN of german steel in her path? sheesh)

All within 200m of my bike park

Yep---jaffa lands turn today i guess
    Just ride.

haha that was me trying to rearange my wallet so it was no longer digging into my tender man bits! (must remember no to wear such tight jeans when riding)

yea its like they saw us, stopped then decided to make a break for it but then chicken out half way through and stopped in the middle of our lane!

    Don't worry Danae.

    That's Auckland for you everyday.

It's a question of leverage and respect, you just got to weigh the scales towards yourself. Getting a bigger and taller bike like Steveos does help.

Just ride carefully, I wouldn't worry too much, just remember the golden rule, everybody is out there to kill you.
