I have an mx set of Renthals, quite flat, pulled the foam roll off it (its just velcro) and the cross brace can be handy for mounting things on.
If you listen to this old geezer he will start to yap on about GPS, radar detectors, LCD entertainment screen, drink holder with heated function, Short range radio and a pin up calendar of bikini babes ...

On the other hand, that bit about the wide range of differing bars is true, best to ask the dealers and maybe they can best fit the profile of bar you desire!

But you should see his KTM ... and he also is missing quite a few brain cells and his sanity is always seriously in doubt.

He does know a thing or two about bashing bikes around though!

NGK CR8EH9 x 4. Make sure you get at least CR '8s' because going any 'hotter' e.g. CR7 will almost certainly result in a meltdown. I've also run 9's (colder) but they would foul like a bitch on short runs over winter.

See here for fun with melting plugs clicky

I've found listings for both CR8s, and CR9s. Would there be any outright difference in performance?

Not that you're going to notice. The 9s will run colder so they will only really benefit you if you're going to give it death everywhere / track use. I run 8s in mine and they are brilliant (and it gets a good workout reasonably often ). When I ran 9s they gave me grief with fouling. It's more a case of handling the punishment without fouling when nana'ing around town rather than outright performance.

Suggestions on where to get them? Seem to be around the $20ea mark, which to me seems to stupid money considering they're not iridium. Whatever happended to good ol $5 spark plugs. (gawd the bosch plugs i bought for my Mazda were $28ea?!)

Yeees. Well I bought my last set at Colemans, but any reputable bike shop should stock 'em. They are a pretty standard plug, common to CBR250 etc. Unfortunately, the price is just what it is. It's a volume manufacturing thing. $80 a set is not unusual for bikes. Remember you've got a 'high performance' 250cc engine there - equiv of 160hp/litre, so plug changes often...carb balancing often...oil changes often...$$$ often.

I can get a set of 4 CR9EH-9 or 8 plugs for $50 (plus or minus depending on exchange rate) but I need a bulk order say 4 or 5 set to make it worth while. Anyone interested?

I stop bringing huge bulks now because my current bikes do not use em anymore...

Wasn't me either, I was riding home!

I'm always on the southern motorway morning and evening, rain, hail or shine. So if you see a red hornet with a ridiculously large topbox on it, that's me, give me the fingers so I know you're a KB'er!

So who was the extremly courteous red hornet on the Southern heading into town today? I was all excited about seeing another red beast that my speed made a small jump and before I got up to him he gestured me to slow down. Not many people look out for their fellow bikers tha much ! Then I had a nice ride into town with a fellow hornet, great start to Friday !!
