It's never okay to speed but I still do it - I just won't bleat when I get shafted by Mr Plod for breaking the rules I know are in place.

I don't bother speeding in the cage, it will die. But on a bike? Hmm where ever I deem it safe to do so and feel like speeding. What a sinful prick I am

NEVER in town... is pretty much my only rule. In any 50km zone I never do more than 55km (35km passing school buses) because as far as I'm concerned, those zones belong to predestrians, which 90% of the time are kids. On the open road, it's open speed limit for me

Meh. I just ticked and then unticked pretty much all the options... because it depends! It depends on so many things. I mean, is speeding doing 51 in a 50 zone, or 61 in a 50 zone or 70 in a 50?

On my commute there are some places where I would never do more than about 52kph because the circumstances would make it dangerous for me or others. There are other places where I often catch myself doing 62kph and I have to remind myself to slow down - simply because I don't want to pay the fine, even though I think it's a perfectly safe speed for that area.

So my final and difinitive answer is "all of those places, and none of those places, depending on the circumstances."

I personally am guilty of speeding (going over the limit in my cage..) , but I try not to, simply as I wanna keep my license, having lost it once, in Oz, for drink driving . And I always look out for bikers, as I will expect the same respect when I own a bike - I will personally guarantee a dent in the drivers door if they feel the need to ignore my presence, hehehe

Speeding is doing 61 in a 50 zone because pedestrians, namely kids, are used to judging a vehicles speed at around 50-55 and when they make the decision to cross the road based on the distance away from them you are they expect you to be doing said speed... go faster and you're going to be on top of them quicker than they expected and you're going to be screaming "Some fucken kids jumped out infront of me!"... and it's going to suck.

Nah. Speeding is doing 61 in a 50 zone purely because that's what the police ticketing tolerance is, and you know you'll get a ticket at 61. Bears very little resemblance to a safe speed in that area.

Despite klingons comments above I have to agree you have a point.

Of course it never works in a 100kph area...
