The most important thing about any helmet is how it fits your head. It doesn't matter how it rates in some arbitrary scoring system if it doesn't fit your head shape perfectly.

I guess that's a personal choice - price or greater safety.
My personal preference, I'd rather have a higher safety rating. Head injuries are particularly difficult to recover from.

Wearing the safest of the safe helmet according to the "experts" does not matter a damn if the thing does not fit well. All we need is a good standards approved lid, that fits our fat/thin/round/egg shaped/big hair/bald as a badger head.

Price has nothing to do with safety! Nothing at all! Some of us choose to spend a bit more to buy a lighter lid. Wankers that wear an ill fitting lid, that looks "cool" and costs the earth, are either stupid or ignorant.

I guess that's a personal choice - price or greater safety. If you find the minimum acceptable standard defined by our law as okay then definitely shop on price. Let me re-phrase that - there is nothing wrong with the minimum standard persee, it's just a choice of weather you want to exceed it.

I just have issues with how the Sharp tests are done and scored.

They should be trained to know that when fitting a helmet on a girl you give them the correct size first then sell them one two sizes too big so so their hair will not get messed up.

I'm pretty sure there is a law like that for the scooter-girls.

That is the article I refer to when talking about helmet "safety".

Motorcyclist Magazine lost all their advertising from Shoei and Arai over that. Helmets shouldn't be designed to pass tests OR meet standards. They should be designed to act as an exoskeletal impact mitigation device.

As far as safety ratings go , giving all other variables being equal, I would always choose the helmet with the higher safety rating.

Seriously...because there was no mention of an xxs to "grab" but thanks for the info I'll certainly ask. I get the feeling they're probably reluctant because it means then they'd have it in stock to sell if it doesn't fit me.
