Like alot of others, Billy Conolley, Billy T, Bill Bailey - must be something in the name.

I was a fan of Ed Byrne, but he always seems to be making the same jokes. So I kind of got over that.

The Twelfth Man cracks me up.
    Fred Dagg
Sinbad was a pretty good stand up without the filth.

TV comedians are another breed... for me there are few that top Rowan Atkinson and John Cleese.
Americans seem to fall well behind there.

Then there are the likes of Clive James who can be incredibly funny.

God - you can really go on about this one aye. The list seems to be pretty much exclusively male. Anyone have any top female comics? I reckon Dawn French is pretty funny.

Oh yeah...bling sent. He is the Shissle Stick. This is the dude I was trying to remember the name of. Eddie is brilliant but this guy would possibly be better. Maybe. Kinda. Possibly.

I wouldn't like to pick just one - there are so many that have really had their moments (good and bad). The last two I watched were Dylan Moran when he was last in D'Auckland (he was SO clever, and so much better than the DVD I'd watched not long before the show), and a DVD of a live Robin Williams performance. He was so manic, and so funny. You'd think he was on meth, he's that hyped up. At the end of the show, he was soaking wet, and so was the stage, courtesy of the bits about cats 'owning' things by pissing on them ("That's mine! And that! I Like that too!"), and another one about taking viagra.

If you want a really good time, go along to The Classic on Queen St when there's some decent comedians there. We went twice with my wife's workmates, once as their end of year 'do'. They'd booked a table right at the front of the room, next to the stage, so of course everyone got picked on (except me - maybe I looked too scary?) The next time, we went to the small stage/bar upstairs, with just one comedienne, and every time we bought a round of shots, bought one extra for her too, so she wouldn't hassle us so much. Didn't quite work, but everyone including her had a good time.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
