Woody, check out Nelson motorcycle club website......

The annual Morley Honda Six Hour is being run September 27th at Christie's Forest, signposted on the Tophouse-Korere Road, Korere.

Entry Forms have been mailed to past racers and they can be completed online as well, so with over 180 riders and $6,000 in prizes the past two years this will again provide some great racing!

For more information please contact Paul at Morleys 03 544 8703 or service@morleymotorcycles.co.nz

Last years course was definitely an enduro style course, with some good technical bits, mud holes and other challenging bits. Beware of kamikaze quad riders who won't think twice about running you over if you don't get out of their way, and the expert riders WILL roost you, they are there to race.
If you can find a smaller bike than the KLR, go for it, but 6hrs (or 3 hours in a team of two) is still a long time at race pace wrestling a big heavy pig.
I wouldn't think of doing it on the 640, but the DRZ is looking tempting. Maybe next year tho, I would die trying to ride it in 3 weeks time, just not fit enough this year, too many pies and curries over this winter. Arm pump hurts..... oh, and monkey butt hurts too.

It would be funny lugging the old pigs around. A few mx boys gave a laugh & yahoo when Gonzo came lumbering thru the carpark at Sharlands after a session one avo. Cheeky lil shits - I tried to roost them...

Unfortunately (fortunately) the date sees a clash for me, and like mr frog says , it would kill me doing that in 3 weeks time.
Be fun trying though just to see what would happen.

I found the mud hole on the Maungatapu yesterday
Took the wrong line and that grey goop swallowed my front wheel and didnt spit it out for over half an hour ,I was fooked after that.

Was that an over the bars experience? The @ looked pretty cleanish as it cruised down Vanguard st today...

Don't forget about the National motorbike show on Sun @ Founders. I'm working in the cafe at the Gentle Annie fair for most of the day so will try to get there after 2pm.

no , It was a gentle sinking sort of experience and it still wouldnt come out after dragging the arse round down hill .
I'll have to loosen the tripple clamps off now cause I put a bit of a twist in it trying to wrench it free
