LOL that is my favourite KB quote of all time.
hahaha its even added to to the guys name being Firefight
"The world is a strange sad place. Ride as often as possible and try not to think about it".
I have cut 2 rubber loops from an old inner tube and put them on the forks between the top and bottom triple clamp to secure it to the side of the fork behind an acerbis headlight/number plate.
My old XR650 caught fire once on an adventure ride.
cant do that on most bikes ive seen, theres not enough clearence between the forks and the radiators / frame when you turn
Might be a good idea to remove/edit any references to bikes causing fires in forests, don't want to provide any more ammunition that may result in further restrictions to riding areas eh?
I just carry mine in my back pack, plenty of padding back there with the body armour, back pack and water bladder between myself and the extinguisher, there are more painful things that will happen than an injury from that small canister. Don't do what some do and carry it in your airbox, I've seen the results of that practice and the ruined engine if the extinguisher comes loose and goes off.
Firstly the extinguishes that you buy do almost nothing. We have tried just for the sake of it. I have 2 sets of amour one for MX and one has a fire extinguisher cable tied on the back which is never coming off. I would never drill holes in a bike to hold a extinguisher. I have also seen a extunguisher get holes in it from a big bail and the shit goes all over your bike!![]()
Ask Kezzafish - I believe he just pokes it up his arse ...![]()
For REAL news (instead of that shit they spoonfeed you every day on TV) go to - http://www.openureyes.org.nz/blog/
Oh Kezza Fish I'm sure you've got something to add to this! I'm all for disproving FF's response about the similarities between the fire extinguisher, etc. I guess I've got the fire extinguisher and the necessary parts! More interested to find out how well it fits with Kezza!
I got pig sick of taping/cable tying the damn thing onto my handlebars so I ve fabricated an aluminum number plate and bolted the supplied bracket vertically on the number plate. I also used 3 velcro cable bunchers (made by 3M) bolted under the bracket so they wrap around the extinguisher bottle to prevent it moving in the bracket.
Whether you think you can or cant - you will always be right.

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
my own fault really.
he added a bit of padding to the extingusher so the traps dig in a hold tight
