    XTZ660 Tenere

I'm off to Auckland this weekend to ride the new (blue) model back to Chch, for a Kiwi Rider test. Later this year it'll be used for exploring for the Yamaha Ultimate Adventure (four-day ride getting to Blenheim for the three-day Yamaha Safari).

    All will be revealed.

We likes it!! We wants it!! but then I can't know anything cos I liked 'Long way round' almost as much as 'Long time 10 dollar'
I like all motorcycles equally, but some more equally than others.

Very unfair to rate the looks of a bike you haven't seen in the flesh but dunno if I like the blue much, The white/red or khaki ones look great though. Pity about the weight/power/suspension/price all being shit.

    Cheers

National Park servo. 10am Saturday. Be there. It would be downright rude not to do Fishers track & the 42 traverse with us on the way down.

    Cheers

Thanks for the invite, but I doubt I can be there at that time, as there's sure to be a delay getting away from Auckland, and I'm only flying in that morning.

I hope you have a good ride, though, I've always enjoyed those tracks.

    Cheers,
    Dave B

Like you say, you need to see them before you judge. I have a customer that wanted a Black model. He came in yesterday to view them both and bought the Blue model. The Power Blue is definitely my pick.

    You forgot about Height

I've seen the black one in the flesh and sat upon it. Is sexy in a way but the blue one looks nice in the picks. Too Tall and heavy though.

Depends if you are a vertically challenged or not. I had some guys sit on the Tenere at the speed show that made it look like a 250.

I had a sit on one @ Full Throttle in Pukekohe, nice feel to it, looks good. I'd to take one for a test ride.

Local Yami dealer has bought one for his own use, so called in for a quick look this morning. Too tall for me plus the weight seems quite high, incl massive muffler system under the rear fender. Other than that I actually quite like the style, even though it's in the BMW price range.
But what's with the tow hook, mounted to the lower fork clamp?
