I was a busy lad looking after the carpark, signing latecomers in and general marshall duties. Didn't get up the hill till 12:00 just in time for a sausage. Managed to squeeze off a few photos though.

    Heres a couple more piks.
I was chatting to one of the army blokes and said I had told some of the riders, the army was going to use them for live target practice. But he said "Nah - we can't afford to spend the money on ammunition."

A mate and myself were giving some people a hand to push their bikes up the mud hill. It was the other guy's first time on a trail ride so I was keeping an eye on him. We did a fair few of those A extensions and I did the large B loop bit as well

Different trails used again huh. he loves than knarly shit doesn't he!

Anyone else hear those army boys shooting at each other and exploding stuff?

Hi kezza. I jumped onto you website to have a nosey at ya photo's. I must say I like the photo of the out of control freak in the photo on your front page, that links to the Totara park ride. that twit is me!!!!
looking at all the other photo's of guy's coming down that same section, they are all straight, up right and in control .... But that's no fun in my book

After seeing those army boys with their Styers and giving them a roost (or at least trying to, its a bit hard when ya on a dirty old DRZ that's already full tapped out) and then a couple of minutes later having a flash of light in front of me, i thought your camera flash was a muzzle flash and the soldiers were getting pay back lol

Anyway after a change of dack's and a few more loops, It was a very enjoyable day, although a bit greasy in places....

Plus - those sausages were really really good!!!!!

Yeah i'll hopefully be there mate. I recon you should flag the wheelies and work on enhancing your "nose down jump" technique. Out with the old, in with the new. i say

Hey Thanks Kezza for putting up the high res photo. Printed it out and now in pride of place on the garage wall.......

Andy, I wouldn't be ashamed of being in that BBQ queue. Those sausages were one of my highlights of the day, Along with losing the front end when coming down one of the long down hills on the B loop. Bike hit neutral, front end slipped into a rut, Phil became "Flying Phil" and went over the bars only to "Rollie Pollie" down a 15m drop !!!!!
After a hard slog back up to the trail, my bike was lying in the middle of the track on its side idling happily away, while a small queue had gathered behind it.

Its all part of the fun I suppose !!

if you did that ride without good tyres all the other rides will be a piece of cake.

the tangimoana ride coming up is a pretty easy open ride, although it rained last year and had a few bogs.
