Has anyone given any thought to some finacial assistance from us as a group for Ixion?
If we want to have Ixon as the front person for us in this battle, then he will need funds, to expect him to cover his exspences soley out of his own pocket is not a fair deal.
Is there a fund set up specifically for this with an online bank account?
Ixon did an awsome job with the media on TV1,we need the information they promised and the man to lead us.
I am not in a position to do anything other than offer finacial support ,
as such the rest of the body of bikers could chip in some cash and let the head (Ixon) do what is needed on our behalf.
I feel that in this case, that the fund should be seperate to Bronz.

Given that this thread is entitled "Not impressed with spokesman", I have a couple of thoughts:

• Les/Ixion appeared on Close Up as a spokesperson for BRONZ, I believe. BRONZ members (of which I am not one) are quite entitled to criticise his performance. BUT
• Unless I've missed it in this long and rapidly growing thread, neither of the two people I have seen criticising Ixion (lee.j and Katman) have said why they're not impressed. Duh.

Just watched the clip, Ixion did very well indeed.

I've extracted the clip from the interview as a WMP file, it's around 30MB. I would upload it to the thread, but not sure if I can do this given it's file type and size.....maybe some more seasoned KBers can advise....

I would guess BRONZ have a bank account we could contribute too via the club treasury, and also imagine that could be used to fund Ixion's adventures on our behalf??

If not, lets get one set up with Ixion as sole signatory and let him use it as required in our cause

I thought he came across really well. "everyman" style. It worked, and the ACC fellow was on the back foot. His initial stmt was "by the book" (to be expected). Your $10k retort was PERFECTLY timed.

Since none of you (except Horse) have been able to figure it out, I'll spell it out for you.

Nervousness is one thing. Nervousness coupled with shifty eyes suggests someone is hiding something.

We all know that Ixion isn't hiding anything but it's not us that Ixion needs to be convincing. It is the non-motorcycling public.

As Mikkel said, praise from your mother doesn't really count for much.

Katman, don't sweat the small stuff. Seriously.

The advice I gave was to enable him to do it better next time, if he wants. But think about the narrative, this is "man in the street vs the faceless bureaucracy", and for that you actually want the kind of "everyman" persona Ixion displayed. It helps that he's not acting, that's his real self.
