    Too true Katman

Spotted a fair few bikes rolling into New Plymouth this evening - everyone well geared up, taking it easy through the crappy road works on the northern entry to the city. They were a good advert for the way we all need to ride, especially now with the public eye starting to become so focused on bikers.

Keep it safe out there this weekend folks - and every other day as well.

And if your going to do it. Do it properly - last thing we need is more ACC claims cos they can fix you.

For goodness sake! We dont go out riding to fall off and kill ourselves and a thread on KB isnt going to change anything.

Well, let's just say I hope they have swept the grit of the roads through Arthur's and Lewis passes. Greymouth is where it's at this weekend.

Thats why I always have a 2nd bike handy to ride... or steal a loner from the shop

Tis OK, I did about 2500km last weekend, died twice, so I should be ok for this weekend... I can only do 300 odd km, as its almost up to service interval.

Yep, the last thing we need in Tuesday morning papers is the usual - "6 dead on the roads over the weekend, 3 of which were motorcyclists"

Well, I made it back from another 320km ish without dying a single time!!

I've heard others died 3 times last weekend, so I'm obviously not trying hard enough

went for a ride over the paikak hill today, loads of bikes cause the rimutakas were closed, not a single rider in the usual, hunched over attack position, now if acc could just do somthing about the bunch of cyclists riding 3 across, and the 2 boy racer fuck heads on the wrong side of the road

Over the start of these long weekends, I tend to avoid riding where there are many vehicles herding in long packs, strung along like the entrails of a leviathan, heading towards its doom ...

Heck, yesterday, I didn't even get on my bike(s)! Today, I drove and was carted around in a cage!

But, now, tonight with a lot of the mad motorbike munching vehicles ensconced in their caves or tethered up for the night, I shall don my red ninja pajamas and go for a wee bit of a tootle somewhere!

Gotta luv'them horrordays where the melding of machine and flesh all take on a ghastly theme when they combine in ways not intended

Ride safe, be safe out there peeps (and yes, mr gijoe1313 does intend to take mucho care himself).

Managed to do the Maraetai/Whitford loop this afternoon. Lots of bikes out and about. Only one incident where I worried RipperRoo would follow the example of one rider who passed all three of us plus a cue of cars plodding along the open road at an annoyingly slow 80kph. (In a windy stretch between Maraetai and Clevedon) Thankfully he decided it probably wasn't such a good idea with his mother and father riding behind him, assessing what he was doing. He did admit that if he'd been on his own he probably would have. Reminded him again that staying safe and alive is much more important than risking dodgy overtakes. The lesson being that patience can save your life and sometimes has to be a motorcyclists friend.
