We have a connection to get a few loudhailers, and I am arranging ride briefs with instructional fliers, route maps, Police cooperation instructions.

We have PARKING covered, a team building for that and council pre alerted and cooperative, as are the Police
We have support vehicles promised from the bike shops
We have a first aide contingent arranged (tentatively, Wellington Free Ambulance)

Its in hand, but yep keep it coming, there will be something weve overlooked.....somewhere
    Just ride.

Learn basic maintenance as motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking in

Ok its the National one coming to Wellington- and good point, all the regional ones, leading here, we know that but is there an actual National BIKEOI thread for the final plan to show on?

However this registration is obviously for the National event...it says so

Just been doing a bit of measuring on Google Maps.
The grounds outside parliament are approximately 139 metres long by 17 metres wide at the widest part, down to 13 metres at the southern end. That means at best we would get just short of 1000 bikes up there if they were all parked very neatly in rows. This is based on the assumption that each bike would take up a space of approximately 2.5 metres long x 1 metre wide. That would not leave enough room for people to walk through comfortably without danger of knocking bikes over. Allowing for people means we'd be lucky to get perhaps 600-700 bikes up there plus a couple of hundred on both drives.
Which begs the question, if 5000 bikes turned up, were are we going to put them?
Similar issues exist at Avalon Park. You might get 500 bikes in front of the duck pond if neatly parked. No issues around the back road of Avalon Park. Perhaps the back road of Avalon Park is the preferred option?

they might have to close molesworth street. i know we dont want to disrupt the general public but theres not a lot of options here. if it is not closed it will end up covered in bikes anyway.
thats if we do get those numbers anyway.

might pay to change the " National Bikeoi Registration" thread to a poll so we can see numbers

as suggested in another thread you might want to make this thread a poll to make it easier to see the numbers

Haven't made it a poll as I wanted it accessible outside of KB which is why I put it on google docs. A simple row count in the spreadsheet will give us the numbers easy enough.

The google spreadsheet will indicate the numbers its what it is for, and its outside the website so non KBers can register

Vic Uni will be approached for parking pavement, the Cenotaph and its paved area (100 bikes?) is going to be sectioned off

We have Mr Visser and the Police onside

Lax boys....we will find room even if we spill up round past Parli, onto Hill st(?) and into Pipitea...we will keep one lane open
    Just ride.

Thanks for the name change Jantar. Is it in the right place and could it get a link in the banner area where the BRONZ and Bikers Against links are ?

    Just a suggestion:

Could you edit your original post to:

"Register here if you are attending the National BIKEOI."

Might make it a bit easier to find the link to your doc. It had me confused for a bit where to register and I am sure there will be others as well who will be confused.
