port levy is a good ride alright. Might stop at the whetsheaf for a burger on the way back the chicken burger was great... and nice atmosphere
few of us went to *ahem* check the road today...
it's clean until half way up the hill, then there's a patch or 2 of grit and some rubble.
the road is pretty technical so keep your speed low and you'll be fine.
on the way back there's a bit more grit, so even slower, but once you get back to diamond harbour it's all good.
I'm going to give this one a miss! Will come and wave you off though...

what D said. you wont learn to ride it by looking at it in the garage.
protip: the grit and debris that we saw on the port levy road wasn't in the car tracks, so if you stick to the car tracks you'll be fine.
if you go slow, take your time, watch the road AND relax there's absolutly no reason why you cannot get to port levy and back famously.
I'd say it's not so much learning the roads as learing to deal will anything any road might have waiting for you anytime, especially if going somewhere new/unknown where by you may not know what to expect.
