Thanks NH, awesome stuff mate, bet that was easy to find and I have just been too fuzzy to dig today
My 'guestimate' figure was way too high I can see so lets revise

Motorcycles alone (if full year paid) = $25,637,169.00
Add ATVs to that, at 1,202,804.00 (providing they pay a Bike charge???)
    Moped acct , $1,695,741 (and 30c)

$28,535,714 (and 30c) IF all paid a full year.......

I only pay for full years myself, never been bothered 'parking' rego as I like to be able to ride either bike at will
    Just ride.

Wouldn't be many if any ATVs licensed.

OK. I just got an answer on this from ACC.

The figures they have used are based on FULL YEAR EQUIVALENTS. ie if someone registers their bike for 6 months it counts as half a bike. On that basis the number of full year equivalent bikes is

    0 to 125cc 27553

    Number of mopeds accoridng to MoT = 25304 * 58.97 = 1,492176
    Balance of 0 - 125 cc.................... = 2249 .. * 252.69 = 568229
    125-600cc...................................= 20883
    Plus 600+.....................................= 41891
    .................................................. = 62774 * 252.69 = 15,862362

Total full year equivalent bikes = 90327. Reasonable validation to MoT data, allowing for some part year licensing

    Total expected levy income $18,055462.

That's according to ACC's own figures. Might be very small differnces due to timing of receipts etc but in the thousands, max, not millions.

Which explodes totally the 12 million claim

This is the definitive figure for number of bikes and levy income.
