    ACC U-Turn

Just seen on the news that the both Nick Smith and John Key believe the ACC boards proposals to raise the ACC levies need to be reconsidered.

    That was quick.

    Excellent work guys.

    Don't hold your breath.

The govt and ACC will have the increase you we still pay through the nose, but most feel like they escaped with a good deal.

    And the lies will continue.

No celebration just yet, to reconsider does not mean the outcome will be fair and just. As Les said ''this is where it starts''. Lets wait and see what they come up with. Todays event was a huge success and a massive visual experience for those that couldn't make it to Wellington.

They have reconsidered nothing, they are just sticking to their original script, two steps forward, one step back.

ANY extra increase for bikes that is generally accepted, will be a failure

    Two points

    1. A lower increase is not a U - turn and we should not accept it

    2. Both Nick Smith and John Key are lying - proposed changes were/are government driven (as opposed to being recomended by ACC)

Actually way better than I expected Maha. In fact a massive visual experience for those that were there. I was certainly blown away by the amount of bikes and pleased to be a part of it!

for what its worth i actually believe ACC to be generally well run and a boon on our fair nation, that is being demonised for giving their bosses (ie govt) what they asked for.

Oh, sure. Yeah, it's extremely well run when some fucker can break into your house and steal your shit, injure himself in the process, bitch to ACC and get a payout.

    Fantastic system.

I reckon 500 dollars is what they will propose

Don't know if this is the best thread but congratulations to all the bikers who took part in that rally. Great riding. Big ups to you all. 5000 bikes in one convoy! Awesome

i said generally, not extremely. :P

if you want to argue no fault then you have to accept that kind of thing i feel... perhaps not a cash payout per se but at least medical treatment. basic human rights etc. the fact that he hurt himself doing something illegal is a job for the courts!

The cleverest move the Govt can make now is to recommend an increase that will divide us. One that half of us will accept as "oh well, it's better than $750". I think it would be a mistake to accept anything other than an increase just above the rate of inflation.
