And didn't we do well? That was huge and well mannered. Seeing all kinds of bikers from big hairy chopper ones to you beaut scooterists. Even got to see GI Joes costume, was on duty guarding cones on the street so didn't get the chance to say hi.

    Makes ya proud don't it?

I was poking tongue and making fun. Just amused me that a cop would say that he was taken care of by his fellow bikers.

I had an awesome ride down and back (in the pouring rain). Parked early at parliment, grabbed a coffee, went for a walk along the waterfront, had a beer or 2 and then back in time for the speeches. Got my mug on TV1 news and yelled BULLSHIT with the masses! What a great day. And all this in spite of Stoney telling me online to "don't bother coming ya dickhead we don't need you or your kind". Well stoney I think the rally showed we need all kinds don't you think?

Thanks JMJ and Mrs JMJ for putting us up for the 2 nights.

Well I know of several old ladies +85 years that watched the bikes go thru Kapiti from the rest home beside SH1 and told me that the noise was simply wonderful and brought back memories

I've been on the big MAG protests in UK in the late 80 early 90s when 10 thousand bikers turned out and rode around the city streets a bit protesting Euro restrictions from Brussels. It was effective, but nowhere near like what we did on Tuesday. This was way more effective, right up to the bloke responsible and let him have it, face to face. We did it right - no question. Big ups to all the organisers and the cops too for their (subtle) support.

I have a very public face and name to this protest campaign. My BB has never displayed a current rego, there is no holder to put it. It is in my pants pocket. So easy for me to walk away from a compliance infrigement. I have never come to attention of plod while I have owned BB. I currently have rego.

I am a big WOF girl, always will be. The rego that I have in my pocket could be so easily overlooked when it comes time to renew

    I can confirm that

TOTAL support from the public, never seen anything like it.

Parliament security are flabbergasted, they were sure it was going to be a riot, they said "we just can't believe how smoothly it all went".

According to them, the biggest protest at Parliament since Dame Whina's hikoi, maybe bigger (hard to compare shitloads with heaps and heaps).

    No incidents no stupid stuff.

And a personal memory - heading from the Police College into Wellington, following a couple of bikie cops, speedo on 120kph, bikes solid across the motorway, a foot max between bikes, a bike length or less between them, and EVERYBODY riding brilliantly. And half of them Harleys, and half those patched. Absolutely text book formation riding.

And at least one of those bikie cops must have hit 200kph at least accelerating onto the motorway to catch the convoy. I bet he was grinning from ear to ear.

And now for more serious messages.

    We are at war!

Althogh Mr Smith listened politely and attentively to our messages , he did NOT give us the assurance we are looking for.

He (and the National party and ACC) will now be hoping that, having vented, we will go home and forget it.

So it is MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER to get the pressure on locally. Regional coordinators, target National electorate office, national party meetings, ACC offices.

    The campaign begins today.

Everything so far was just the warm up. Now we need to come out fighting.
    Fact

There were no tickets issued (despited a couple of clowns) one in front of a bike cop....., the other on the roof top of the stadium and another speeding (see below)
There were no accidents (reported) that are known of
There were no compaints from the public or other road users
    There was no disorder
There was no rain (or wind

Putting this into perspective 0.06% of the 5000 bikes attending were muppets and overall 0.03% of 12000 people attending misbehave, and contry to expectation it was not who you would think it was middle aged men on harleys and the 1 dick head lone rider clocked at 190ks just south of levin. The description given was 'a red motorbike'.

What you and the team achieved was a remarkable feat and something to be very proud of. Well done and thank you. I for one look forward to the next event.

    K

It is invaluable and mustn't be taken for granted.

I spoke to a few cops yesterday, in uniform and out, and the one thing that had them most bemused was the arbitrary cc rating brackets for the proposed levies.

As one of them said, "We don't record the cc rating of bikes involved in accidents so how was the decision made to set levies based on cc?"
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
