Now, I made a promise to the Westpac Trust, and I have a bond to carry out my promise
This is potentially a few thousand dollars of damage

    I WANT this guys name
Someone here knows him, he will have skited or blown his trumpet

If Mike D could behave so well on the day (he stopped the rock throwing skinhead dick THANKS Mike), if the Highways, Taupiri and the Tribesmen all acted so cool, and respctful, why should this moron guy get away with his one act of outright vandalism

I am responsible personally for the Stadiums Sanctity on the day
This guy has let us all down, but especially the Wellington public who treasure our world class stadium

    I WANT DETAILS

He will pay, one way or another

    Brent Hutchsion, AKA StoneY
Incredibly naive to think you could control the actions of a 6000 strong crowd of bikers, and why would you need, or have to offer guarantees to the Westpac Trust on the action of another person??.......I feel the vitriol is missplaced anger created by unreal expectations. [and that another angry rant/abuse at the messenger will ensue].

Forget it Brent, have a whip around, pay for the damage, and chalk it up to experience.

But it's really odd because that quote was taken WAY WAY out of context, and I don't get why it's been quoted in this thread.

All this on the same day I get two red-blings (in revenge):

    LMFAO.

Seeing as its just a brand of bike I do wonder from time to time what the real reason for all the resentment is. Its funny though, especially when expressed with such style and ignorance.

Ok this has turned into too much HD bashing

HD riders are not to blame here

And SPB, yes I feel like a HUGE rant and basically, have anyway with the opening post

Fact is many (I mean MANY) KBers and non KBers have offered to dip into the wallet and pay the fine for the dickhead that did the burnout
In all honesty I am actually relived there was ONLY ONE

No SPB, I am not naieve mate, I am just gutted that ONE person of the estimated 8,000 that used the stadium (6,000 bikes and change with pillions on roughly 1/3rd) took it on himself to fuck it up

A sports bike was stopped from the same task by a quick minded copper so lets lay off the HD bashing, because at least 10 HD owners have PM's me offering money, trade services, and utterly gutted it was a HD so LETS stop HD bashing here its a biiger topic than bike taste

    MAD MAL has stepped up
His flooring business, which btw found us our PA coutersay of Audio Save, has arranged for the VERY GUYS who laid the walkway to inspect it at 1.30 today

Even before the Manager of the Stadium has been made aware of this, KB has stepped up to cover the issue

    Thanks all of you

SPB, I promise to hold the ranty anger in man, were on the 'past it' side of the big event
Passion abating at last, adreniline turning to a nice mellow burn of pride
Pride in NZ bikers for that HUGE achievement...NO BINS on way in
    Just ride.

Don't worry about that sixpack, he's just a shit stirrer.
You did a fooken awesome job.
Would have been impossible to do what you did without some passion, so hey that's going to boil over when you pissed at some stage.
I'm happy to help out with the bill if you get landed with it.

Just got back from the site visit to have a look at the damage.

What has happened is the burnout was done on the section that doubles as the roof for the golf shop & other businesses below at the end of the parking section. This is a rubberized cement that acts as a waterproof membrane.
So the burnout has cut through the waterproof membrane and potentially cause leaks into these businesses. As well as leaving quite a long snake of "Avon" tyre tread on the surface.
If they had done the burnout on any other area it would be no problem what so ever & a real easy fix, but Murphy's Laws always comes in to play in situations like this.
The good new is.... it is repairable and my 2 experts that came on site have come up with a fix. I will has the cost on this on Monday. This shouldn't be too bad and I expect it to be in the hundreds rather than the thousands.
StoneY will speak to the Westpac people to ensure that what we are planning on doing is acceptable we should be able to get this sorted pretty quickly.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.

Looking not too bad...was described to me as far worse, but its bad enough

The top layer (a rubberized cement product that makes up the roof of the indoor sports center below) was melted off and sprayed in a black splatter all over the surround

This is a waterproof substance (as where normal concrete is not) and needs to be fixed urgently before seepage takes hold for the businesses below the walkway

Its why one end is so different to the rest

    Heres the pix
If not for the where and when of this, it would have been an achievement!
    But alas, its sheer vandalism

is it an idea to silicon a "patch" of some sort over it until we fix it to stop any chance of leaking?

ACRYLIC EXTERIOR PAINT - match the colour of the concrete.
Did this for a friends driveway. I also have waterproofed cattle troughs (sp?) with it.
    500ml - 1L should do it. $30?
Layer upon layer where its bad, light coat round surrounds.
    Before someone says:
    "It will lift.....WAAAAA.....I'm and expert....WAAAA"
Fuck off - 4 years in paint counts for something in the real world.

There is also a latex compound (similar to tar) in a green and white pale.....but its a bit more expensive - and crappier to use.

Dude, you are not an expert in exterior plaster/concrete product and for the record you have another 8 years as a Tradesman to match my experience in Professional painting and Decorating (12 years, 8 as a TRADESMAN, 4 of which I had 6 staff)

Paint will NOT do this job
And PAINT WILL lift off this product, especially shit acrylic

Edit: AJ Turbo is also a VERY experienced Painter/tradesman, in fact hes on the board that sets qualifiication standards, and will back this up

Work will be carried out within the week so all good

It takes grinding out a 'clean' edge' sealing the sub strata, and re apllying the stuff its made of, thankfully its a fairly common product and readilly available here in Wellington
Its fuck all for materials, the labour is the issue

The extensive tyre track left behind will fade in the sun thankfully but I am going to have a bash with a steam cleaner to minimize it as much as possible

In our favour, its not the first repair done there and the guys doing it have the process down pat

    Sorted
Just the cost to be nailed down, and Maducks warchest to be assessed

Already checked with the downstairs businesses and in our favor the product that was originally fitted has not worked as expected so the construction company has retro fitted another roof lining inside their buildings to eliminate any chance of water seepage into the premises

Lets put it back the way it was. At least then it doesnt look like we have cut any corners & gone for the quick fix or just tried to gloss over the matter.
I am NOT pushing my business barrow here & any costs that I come up with will have to be approved by others before anything is undertaken.
