Also, how are you managing on the inside? The local Nats must have your number and be giving you a hard time, or are they really just a bunch of fluffy, wonderful people who forgive and forget?
Anyway, are we riding down in a bunch (if so when and where) or getting there as we can?
    All good questions

The Nats know there is going to be a protest... but they haven't the intelligence to monitor this site... To understand this area is to understand utter complacency. Not fluffy wonderful people.. although some are fluffy LOL... some are really nice people and some are right regular political animals who strive their hardest to get to the top. The area chairman is one such bloke.. a go-getter who has never really faced difficult times... he is essentially the guy in control... I very much doubt he would have faced something like this before. One thing... although we are using politics to get our point across... we are protesting the government not the National party as such... if we look as though it is party politics then we become fragmented... don't forget... the majority of people in this country like the Nats and more than some of us here voted for them... all governments of all colours make mistakes and this current ACC debacle is definitely one that John Key and the government is heading for disaster over.

The meeting CAN'T be moved... well not easily... its a public meeting with flyers gone out and email newsletters mentioning it even last week. However I will keep my ears open for any changes. As far as inside info goes, they tossed me out of the party committee. after I disagreed with some policies so I milk people I know for info and receive the newsletters etc still. I know all the Nat committee in the area and some are wary of me whilst some just don't like me and others are fine. They are finding out that I am more vocal now on the outside than I ever was on the inside.

I chatted to the branch chairman who is the MC recently. He is a good bloke who means well but as said before has political weakness. I told him there would be protests... and that was way before the idea was discussed here... I told him to expect opposition from bikers about ACC and thats when he told me about the Smith meeting. I was told that Smith would walk out if there was either violence or continual interruptions or shouting etc.. In my way of thinking if the media is there and this is important... IF Smith walks out then we need to have a reception committee of strong NON VIOLENT protestors waiting for him... not only would the walking out look very weak it would put him right in the hands of the very people he wants to tax out of existence.

I continually emphasize NON VIOLENCE and UNITY.. (hear that Short Circuit!).. this is essential if we want to get our point across. Question time is paramount to our success... we all need to have written intelligent questions about not only his ACC portfolio but also climate change etc and the impact bikes have on reducing greenhouse emissions. If all we do is take over question time with ACC arguments we will come across as disruptive to the other people at the meeting. I believe we should make our protest outside before and after the meeting and as people leave... a selected few.. maybe up to 50 or so should be inside... if the noise is coming from the outside then Smith can't justifiably leave the meeting. As the club is on Tamaki drive... protests should be both sides.. and the point made that Smith is in the hall speaking...

As for riding down... I think we should have a meeting point but ride separately... too hard to organise and it would look too menacing to the other people... one thing we don't want to do is alienate other non riders.. we want them on our side... leaflets etc would be great to hand to other meeting goers.

One thing all political parties have is "rosettes" which are basically big cloth badges with the party name on it... if we could get some anti ACC rosettes made it would be quite effective. Tee shirts are also a must, and have already been printed as far as I am aware.

I will research some more and post arrangements here early next week.

Hope this assists.. I would love to see a minimum of 250 there... can we do it?

PM me for my phone number..

Does anyone know where he is coming from, what time and the like?

Would be a real shame if a bunch of learners were in the way, taking it slow, and a couple of alternate routes were blocked with broken down cars.
I love the idea of a motorcade.. but after the meeting... and then protests outside where he is staying. Unsure as to where he is staying or coming from but probably from the airport. If I probed into that it maybe a little too obvious.

We want him at the meeting... lets wait till the meeting finishes before we block his way.

Ozzie... could you ensure people know about this through twitter and co-ordinate thru that media.. I will contact the various media outlets next week...

I am concerned about him turning up at the meeting so those of you who know this character please.. keep him under control! I want to confront him in time and actually find out what he is on about but this meeting or any other ACC related event is NOT the time.

    Look at the map

approx 6 or 7 strategically placed bikes with pillions and mobiles could cover every exit route from this road.

Whatever route he takes he gets spotted and everyone else informed.

Same tactics used by police when conducting a pursuit.

This part of Auckland isnt that big of an area to cover.

There's a LOT if parking there, and it's irregular - like not all marked spaces. Because of trailers and such like. Doubt we'd be able to fill it all, at best make them walk a bit further.

sorry, don't buy this for a second, The press, Pollies(both sides) the Police, ACC and I would expect, the SIS will all be monitoring this site far more at the moment than they usually do.

Bummer why don't you confront me now publically instead of hiding behind the excuse that you put me on your ignore list.

It's you that has the ambigious position - a dyed in the wool Tory who voted for the these policies who is now acting like it's a bolt out of the blue

We are talking local branches... possibly the police may be monitoring it but they would expect a protest at the meeting.. and I have no doubt that they will be there... Our job isn't about violence or illegal activities. It is about a (I hope) a peaceful intelligent protest and discussion with the man himself Nick Smith... I think most of us (SS I hope that also includes YOU) want the same thing.. to sway the government's view on this.. I don't give a flying monkey's if the police are there or if they are monitoring the site... actually I hope they are! We (largely) have kept this to a good discussion about an important meeting. The police are welcome as far as I am concerned... we will need them if there's any idiots trying to go overboard... again... I plead.. lets keep this NON-VIOLENT and an intelligent protest and lets have decent people asking great probing questions in the meeting... hopefully getting more of the public ONSIDE not offside!

The question originally asked was if the meeting would be moved... I can assure you it wouldn't be... it could be stopped if the police or the government thought that threats were being made... and they are not...

So hence the statement... at local branch level the party is quite disorganised... and hence I am pretty sure they won't have any idea of the size of the protest.. even if they do, they won't be equipped or have the right to eject peaceful protestors and attendees.

However I understand your sentiments and thank you for your opinion... this is what this thread should be about.. exchanging views and putting forward ideas for the night.. not about SS calling half of NZ enemies! That sort of talk WILL attract attention!

    Anyhow.. take care

In your dreams Bummer - 1/3 is about it (at best) as far as conservative block is NZ and watch it dwindle as the population getting browner and more urban.

Now that First Past the Post has been scrapped, your goons will never govern alone again. It's a minority government in power in case you didn't notice.

Over to you Drummer, any info?
An escort from your friendly local "Citizen Motorcyclists" to and from the airport would just be such a nice warm welcome to the City of Sales dontchafink?
As for your concerns that we will all act like peaceable tree hugging rate payers at the meeting, nope, sorry, no guarantees on that one.
I also don't believe the security services are ignoring us, or the Nats are so stupid as to ignore us.
Not doing anything illegal, but no free ride for Mr Nick on this, or any other opportunity I get either.
