    Hey Dino, I was going through all my shit in the shed yesterday arvo and found a haynes manual for xr600,s. If you want it pm me your addy and I will send it as i have no use for it now.
    I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

    Can't see from the photo but was it actually slipping? When I had this off about january to change the sprocket it was okay then - maybe just got brittle? Maybe rather than weld it on you could just build up the splines a bit and grind them to fit?

    comes off the shaft, to much movement for the retainer, welding splines dont last long been there done that before, best thing to do(and peace of mind) is replace the shaft, like Anthrax said "Take you an afternoon to strip and replace that shaft" but 7 to 8undie for parts this close to xmas aint gonna happen.

    anyone got a new XR600 sprocket retainer, they could part with quick smart? would pay for it offcourse... ive orderd one but its gona take another week or two to get here, only got this weekend and next to ride then nothing till about mid jan

    Whats it look like ? circlip or plate? and have you got any measurements

    only ridin it down the road, thats when i found the prob, when i road it home again the sprock was rubbing against the guard and i had my foot against the guard so that would rattle of. yeah she broke mate, just trying to hori it up for summer, pull the motor out next year

    plate, its a funny looking one centre mates with the splines and bolt holes slightly offset. from what i can find out there isnt another bike that will mate it so she'll have to be an XR one
