Well I had an awesome day of racing on Saturday. I bought some handlebars off Brendan earlier in the week because I haven't been happy with the standard FXR bars either way up. These new bars are adjustable in every which way and they were fantastic. Much more comfotable when corner and I felt like I had more control. Practice was all good. I qualified eleventh with a lap time of 2:12.360, which put me on the second row of the grid. Pretty happy with that.

Race 1: I got a pretty average start and went into the first corner in about 9th. A few of the quicker guys passed me over the course of the first lap. Caron passed me in the second lap, but I got her back a couple of corners later and never saw from her again. Lap time almost identical to my qualifying time at 2:12.323 (my PB). Finished in 11th(MotoFXR), 13th out of everyone.

Race 2: I like starting from the second row. I got a better start for this one and was in fifth position momentarily!! Scared myself a little bit and lost several places over the course of the first few corners. Usual story after that. I settled into a rythym and once again had a lap time almost identical to my qualifying time. Finished in 11th(MotoFXR) 14 out of everyone.

Race 3: Start was almost identical to race 2, excepth this time I just went for it and clung onto the lead group for much longer. I was still behind Buddha going into Nanas on the first lap. Then Harvey got past and Miriam got through going into the dipper (still haven't got that quite right) and that was about all the excitement for the rest of the race. Came off after that one absolutely grinning. Finished in 9th(MotoFXR), 11th out of everyone.

I know I'm improving and the biggest thing I notice is how consistent my lap times are becoming. I also know where I'm going wrong. Dissappointed that the season's pretty much over. I'm at a point where I could really start pushing myself.

I had a fantastic time racing this year and can't wait til next year.

Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

Some people are a bit slower than others to get back up to speed after crashing
the more you're back on track the easier it will get, it might even be worth doing a Tuesday or Friday or two for a play so there is no "Race day pressure"
