Want make this Wednesday have work duties, there are a few of us heading for a twilight ride leaving my place at 3.30 Saturday heading to Greta Valley, Scargill road to Waikarei then back to the Lethfeild pub, (if fine). If any one is keen send me a PM and ill give details. (we are all on Crusier style bikes and average speed is around 110km's).

I was just sending you a PM for details and asked my wife what she was working this weekend. Saturday... Bugger.

We're away Sunday to the UK for three weeks so will have to catch up once we're back. Have a safe ride Saturday and a good Christmas and New Year.

    :-)

Dreading it. Two consecutive long-hauls with a 10 month old baby. That and a long drive and ferry to the Isle of Man too (choppy in winter). Sooner be here in the sunshine riding my bike.

Will defo have to catch up for a ride out once I'm back.

Not sure if I was there but sorry I take issue with that, did you go say hi or just sit on your bike? A few weeks ago on the last I went on a bloke sat on his bike in the car park and never approached the group, you gotta be up to saying something and getting involved.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

Hey Molly, yeah I don't envy ya on those longhaul flights. Did that last year & lost all my summer riding too (although you wouldn't think it's summer after today).
Brentmc, I may take u up on that ride Saturday. Will pm tomorrow after checking with the boss

I understand what you're saying and, no, I didn't just sit on my bike and did try to engage in conversation. Re. the bloke who never approached the group. Did you take the trouble to go over and say hello, introduce yourself, introduce him to a few members? I really hope so. It's pretty shitty to invite people along and leave them feeling uncomfortable. The onus really is on the organisers to make attendees feel welcome; precisely the same etiquette that'd apply if you invited somebody into your home.

Anyway, I'm not going to get into an argument wth you about it. I don't know what your involvement in those rides is but I made an honest observation based on one particular night. It might just be something for you to think about. I suppose once you get to a certain size it's possible for it to become a bit of a clique - not to need to bother with new arrivals - which is largely what's wrong with most established groups. It's unfortunate but it happens.

Take it easy and ride safe.

I don't know if anybody's planning on going down to Zero's tonight but I can't be there this week due to family commitments. See you when I get back from holiday. Have a good, safe Christmas & New Year.

It's only Tuesday Molly, but I will try & make it tomorrow. I was a definite until I pinched a nerve in my neck this morning, now I can't turn the ol' head left or right (needed on occasions when riding )

Sorry. I thought today was Wednesday. I've finished work for the summer and am now easily confused...

It's doubtful I'll get down there tomorrow (Wednesday) but hope a couple of you do. Weather's looking up.

I'm out for mid week rides until after xmas. Am on a fitness binge so all my spare time is being spent at the gym - bugger. Hard to fit everything in.
