What a tough chick Buffstar is with those horrible injuries - pain pain pain!!!
    Hope ya heal fast[/QUOTE]

She's blimmin tough alright! Phoned her earlier and the first thing she asked about was how did my first ride go on the KDX200!!! Couldn't believe it! She could hardly talk, just croaked those few words out! She said the broken wrist and hurt pelvis from the last off was a walk in the park compared to this one!!! You rock!!!

Shit I've had no interweb for a few days just read this!
I guess the ribs are busted around the back from the extinguisher??
    Ouch that sounds painful!
Get well soon girl and don't let anyone make you laugh! LOL!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

I had my extinguisher in backpack too. Not good, will listen to booom more in future. Guy on exc200 next to me waiting to go through the bog, had best set-up I've seen. He'd made a mount hanging off subframe tucked behind the airbox toolbag bulge (other side of muffler).

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better Buffy.

    Thumbs up

Well guys & gals, here is update on Buffy's condition. Improving day by day, pain relief seems to be sorted (getting wasted for for free LOL) lung is on the mend and bones are still bloody sore. Hopefully she will be moved to ward in the next couple of days. Getting bored as can be expected and hanging out for a cigarette (4 days without imagine the mood). Hospital food is not that desirable but at least she's eating and drinking well! Not much more to report but i will keep you posted with her progress! Oh yeh THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH for your kind words and best wishes for Buffy its great to see so many people out there with genuine hearts, she appreciates it greatly (as well as myself and the kids).

Not wanting to cause extra worry, but are they concerned about any lung blood clots dislodging/floating around? Might already be on meds for this.

Great to hear progress is being made, very painful injurys indeed. I suffered similar injurys 3 years ago, 6 ribs, 7 spinal process, punchered lung and a broken ankle, got a morphed out chopper ride as well ! This has got to be the best way ever concieved to give up smoking, I haven't touched one since, the thought of even a slight cough in the first 2 months of recovery was too scary to risk and if you think you are going to sneeze rubbing your eyes seemed to work. Try and get a positive out of this situation and give the smokes up. 2 months of discovery channel, playstation and tramadol and you'll be good to go again. Good luck and all the best with your recovery!

Yeha Buffstar is on the mend, though not out of HDU yet! Went to visit today! She's still hanging out for a fag, would be a great time to give up for sure! She's out of the bed and in a chair, which is awesome. Lucky enough to be next door to someone that was chanting and singing in Indian. Buffy had a few choice words to say about that! She's thinking about getting a road bike! Oh my god!!! She's not selling the dirt bike yet either!

Good she's semi up and about. Those nurses are merciless on smokers and they have noses like bloodhounds. From experience, leaning out a window for a sneaky fag, you'd be lucky to get halfway through a chuffer before being sprung.

Don't know if I've met Buffstar but best wishes in your recovery.

Wouldn't have thought it possible for a fire extinguisher to do so much damage through a bladder, back pack and a roost guard, but will take notice for the future. Not sure I'll change my ways however.

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

Ohh no that would hurt, less down there for padding.
Been a few years since I landed on my back. Worst part was the bike landing on top of me and the tip of my tail pipe pinning about 2mm of my scrotum into the ground while the rear wheel spun around on my chest, could of been heaps worse! Only ended up with a small burn to the sack, and a totalled pipe and radiator hose.
