    Very skillfull indeed.

Now tell me those in the know... Is 'backing it in' on a roadbike done for the practical reasons like on a dirt bike, ie to line up for a very fast exit out of a tight corner, or is it showmanship?

The reason I ask as I watched a vid of some road bikes going at it & one of the following posters remarked that one rider had to 'back it in' whereas the other following rider didn't need to. I took from that that a more competent rider could have got around without having to resort to 'backing it in'. Did I get it wrong?

Just stowing all these gems away for my launch onto the supersport circuit with a slightly modified KLR650

Most of the braking is done with the front, so the back end lightens. Under heavy brakes, the back starts to snake. Time the sway, and you can back it in nicely. The trick is getting the power on at the right time (without highsiding).

I've got a GP doco somewhere where they talk about Troy Corsey 'backing it in'. There was some theory about the tyre temperatures being cooler than conventional cornering. Something to do with the wheel spinning faster than the bike is traveling. I'll have to dig it out.

You can't beat smooth cornering, but sometimes skids can be smooth.

    Thanks..
You don't want to move it to Jokes and Humour.

The mods pull up 4 year old jokes that are repeated whereas this one is repeated around 3 times a year and doesn't get moved.

    Still funny everytime

Reminder to self. Stop posting stuff when I'm drunk. I get things wrong enough when I'm sober.
