...will any petrol stations be open on Xmas Day? We live north of Christchurch. They tend to be open in the UK but this is our first Kiwi Christmas


This will be my first legal ride in NZ, after arriving here in September We have no kids, no family here, so a bike ride seems the perfect answer to "what to do on Xmas Day"





I will confess to riding it with no number plate on, rather than a big British one, to the shop who did the brake declaration

Big major towns... no problem.

Small country towns... probably not... at least till after lunch.

The Amberley Mobil 24hr is most likley to be open, and there are two in Rangiora the mobil next to new world on the road heading to loburn or the shell? heading towards oxford, those should also be open. but check the website for the main suppliers of fuel, they should have a list of places that will be open, just a thought

Welcome to NZ and to the north of Christchurch
Pretty sure lots of places will be open, maybe pop some petrol in a container to be sure and fill up day before too..
