    Fuck.
Uh, it's a $200 fine. Can't imagine too many people doing a runner just for that. Not to mention that cops are unlikely to stop someone *just* for rego.

Why does anyone think this is in any way related to ACC? The new levies are not even in force yet .

It was certainly a bad call and I doubt this young man considered those his death might affect.

If he had he might not have lost his life.

I don't think he would have thought about that at all - until it all turned bad.
    Do you?

Well, why do a runner unless you are guilty? Tough one the family, but just selfish and stupid of the rider. What if he killed/seriously injured someone when he lost control, rather than just earning himself a Darwin award? the resposibility is entirely his, not the cops/government.

Dam, cannot reply to remark, but someone mentioned ACC and fee increases with regards to this accident and should not effect them because the person died...unfortunately.

If the motorcyclist dies ACC still pays out to the wife of the victim if there is one in this case, a dead motorcyclist does not mean ACC does not have to pay out.

Thats the standard uniform up here for the summer.
The carnage is really getting me down, an accident is one thing but deliberately putting yourself at risk is just ... I dunno, mad, sad, bad.

I think it is worse here in Qld where the Police are on a bike hate - athon. Lately they have been pulling bikes over, demanding that the rider remove helmet, then taking photograps of the rider, his licence, and his bike.

    I don't think this is legal...but what would I know...Im not a Policeman!

It looks like they are trying to build a database to reduce "runners"
Good grief, have they nothing better to do? I really think just because you ride a motorbike, law enforcement assume you must go over the speed limit, infact 'jo' public comments are to this thinking, always asking how fast do you go etc, fark, talk about 'no pressure folks!'

Well, for all we know he has got kids already.

Not cool for the family and friends. However, unless you know your stuff you'd probably be better off pulling over and having a chat to the cops instead of taking the gamble.
