So you think the fellah with the loudest pipe has right of way?? I'd be a rich man if I had a dollar for every time I passed a bike with a pipe so loud the rider can't hear the faster riders approaching.

Nope, it's moron tactics. When racing there is this concept called sportsmanship; it's a myth that racing is 'no holds barred'.

One of the big differences between the fast guys and the _really_ fast guys is how they pass. The wannabe's think argy-bargy is fine; the really fast guys always pass with plenty of room and usually say or signal their thanks. And the really fast guys don't run stupid-loud pipes, either.

Basicly to me and my mates a trail loop is a over size mx track and its there to be raced on that why the loops i do say expert not novice.
If you can't pass cleanly, you're a novice.

Yes and no. You can pick a clean line, initiate the pass and then the slower rider decides to take a mental line and get in your way, your already 10kph all up on him so it gets argy-bargy. Riding is dangerous, sometimes people get taken out.

Sure. But there's a big difference between someone swerving at the last minute resulting in an accidental coming together, versus deliberately taking someone out because you are impatient & unskilled. I would think both parties involved would appreciate which situation is which.

Hmmm you made yourself sound like a TOOL, and you got slapped down for it HA HA HAH!!!
I find most of us out on trails are pretty decent types who enjoy the commraderie (spelling?) anyhoo...... sounds like DS was a blast and you all had fun - which is the main agenda isnt it?!! (unless of course taking other poor ppl out is your idea of fun and bragging rights)
I am counting down to Tussock Buster...... cant wait to be riding again instead of just reading about it, sounds like there will be heaps of us KB'ers there woooo hooooo!!

Well put Buffstar. You'll always find idiots who think they're so much better than others - they forget they once were learners whether as a kid or an adult.
Like you i'm counting down to Tussock Buster - currently not riding due to injury (a cat scratch compared to yours though).

You obviously healing up ok then?
