Unfortunatly he has the almost wife! I dont mind Phoenix buying what he loves, however bikes should be ridden and I dont want him to spend the next 3-4 years complaining that he doesnt enjoy riding his bike like he has for the last 3 years about the ninja (even though he loved that 2). I want him to be able to ride and enjoy it. And you are lucky to be allowed to change bikes every 2 years!

I remember seeing both these and my BMW riding round the bays and bugging my dad as to what they were. So now I have them! It's a nice day when you can say that.
They still a nice looking bike , had a gsx750 es ? 85,86? was my first big bike, had similar fairing, the katana's were too rich for me back then.

Haven't got millions but would suggest getting a Haynes (if there is one) and seeing what you can DIY - even if you don't end up doing anything yourself (and you might just be happy with doing the engine pull and saving those labour hours!) you'll be able to make sure you're not getting bamboozled (of course, if the mechanic is someone you really trust that might not be a worry).

Sorry - I know some people don't "wrench" for very good reasons...

So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...

My usual travelling companion to bike rallies still has his ES that he bought when it was brand new.

Swapsies have been swapped, so we'll be there, with one or maybe two birthday girls

The GSX will probably be there parked beside my XJ as usual.

I was thinking, I have 3 other cameras that can be mounted to bikes in various ways.

I can mount one as a helmet cam (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcJqEFjywMo )
and one can be clamped onto just about anywhere (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL05RQheUjo )
Or all but the one with the wide lens on it can be clamped.

If anyone is keen to give one a go for some extra footage, or just to record your own thing on these rides, let me know and I'll try to find enough batteries.

oops, just remembered. The wife is on holiday and has all the SD cards so will have to wait three weeks before we can use them if you're keen, unless someone has some spare 2gb SD cards lying around

    Anyhoo, see you Wednesday.
I'd definitely be keen to do some videoing. (sorry for posting twice)

Thanks man, am getting it now but it's for the 750F which is a different bike. It's basically the exact same bike as the ES with a little extra fairing on the front. The exact title of the Kats is GSX 750 SE. I have the manual for the ES of the same year which has a little addendum for the Kats on the end. They actually didn't have their own manual at all, I guess 'cause they're the same bike.

I've looked at doing it myself but to tell the truth, I don't know if it's beyond me but it'd certainly be pushing it! One little bearing but it's right deep down in the engine. I rebuilt my old Kawasaki GA90 waaaaaay back in the day but they're so simple you can do it with your eyes shut! Plus I had Dad helping ... i.e. telling me what to do ...

Attached a pic of where I think I need to go in the engine. Not familiar territory!
