You crash it you own it by far.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
Definitely you crash it you own it. Were you selling or testing? What was the outcome?
Private sale you crash it you own it. Or make good the damage. Shop bike, find out insurance excess before you ride, and decide from there.
My worst nightmare involves Indiana Jones, Renegade Master and firearms.
What about when you "lend" someone something & they fuck it....?
Reason I ask is we lent a horsefloat & it got written off , was warranted & regoed but not insured......
The Heart is the drum keeping time for everyone....
The person responsible should pay you the value of the horsefloat. If they won't you'll have to sue them. Nothing says you have to insure it.
Not so. The person responsible for the crash must pay for the damage but there is no way you can compel them to buy it.
Unless you get them to sign an agreement beforehand saying that.
I agree that if you crash it you own it. But on the other hand, the seller would be silly not to have insurance and check before hand that it would be covered in the unfortunate event that a licensed rider wasted it during a "test ride".
Foot the bill for repairs up to excess
I guess this is why alot of private sellers won't let anyone with a 6L or 6R test ride, their insurance only covers full licensed riders.
"I know your about to do something apocalyptically evil but hey, still want to hang"
Most bike insurance I've ever had doesn't include other riders.
I took my bike off retardme because of all the muppets who wanted to ride it and didn't have a licence or sounded like they were 19 still living with the olds and unable to afford to pay for it if they smashed it. I'll just wait till I'm healed & trade it for a track bike.
