I used a cheap-as $60 Deestone (made in Thailand) on the back for the last CCA and it was great. Hardly worn at all, so using it again this year. Not DOT legal. Just don't get too aggressive with the cornering on the road sections.

it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

In March hopefully we will get a sunny day and you'll need at least an SPF30 tanning oil on the back of your neck.

For the bike, just use the oil that's already in the engine as long as it not full of Nelson mud.

If you are coming Nordie I'll look forward to meeting you.
    Cheers

Just remember to keep all limbs away from his mouth until he's circled & sniffed you.

My WR was due for its WOF so done that this morning so she's all sweet for the ride, but crikey its my last annual one. How time flies its 6 years since I bought it just before the 2004 Pukemanu. Makes me reflect a bit too, because it was the CCA 2 years ago that my Bro' was all booked in to do with me like we had been doing since the 1992 Pukemanu and poor bugger found out he had cancer and didn't make it to the "08. 9 months later Jan '09 he was gone, but I am sure he'll be looking down on us now he's on his eternal ride.

Now that reminds me too, must get my entry off to 4skins.
    Cheers

Rode more of the ride today with damp grassy steep up hill sections. Even the brand new E-09 was fish tailing all over the place.

You can see the track we were following just above the DR tank curving around to the left of the hill above the handguard, and obviously where i ended up.
We couldn't walk unassisted and it took 2 people to hold each bike upright and we walk them to the next sheltered spot.
