They're the best you can get, but at a cost. $2500 each hahah.

I had to have a meeting with an orthipedic specialist and get my leg all measured up for it lol. Fully custom bro! Even has my named engraved on it!!

Haha bro that one you posted is an off the shelf unit. These are specifically made for the individuals leg/knee

I use one of my POD's on the other leg. Might sell those to dad and get one of the k300's

    Someone asked about “how”?:
(From my post on another site)

My experience includes 3 events resulting in destroyed ligaments. (Obviously one was surgically repaired once )

The first event was a high speed street bike crash involving concrete and multiple serious traumas – lucky not to be dead, and not really applicable to this thread except as background info.

The second was the same knee, post op (fixed well, by a famous, in Australia, knee surgeon ). My dog ran into me while riding a pushy. Not much impact and no crash, but one foot secured by the pedal and the top of my leg secured by the seat combined with a sideways impact was the “perfect” recipe! I heard it rip like denim – and felt it!!

The third (other leg) was very low speed when I “dabbed” (like hundreds of times before) ridding over a small log and the angle etc just happened to be right to wreck the previously uninjured knee - “rats”!

Too stupid to ever give up bikes, I now wear CTi braces. I hate them (I hate body armor, my Leate brace and elbow guards too – but always wear that stuff as well )

Being a keen push bike rider, swimmer and surfer, I have always considered my knees “fit” and well supported, as would nearly all the MX Pro’s who have wrecked their knees. I’d suggest strong knees can easily be destroyed on dirt bikes. (Obviously strong knees are desirable and are less easily injured).

Several times, including last time I raced MX, I’ve put my foot in a soft hole/rut/etc, trying to save a crash with the subsequent grabbing and twisting and suffered no injury – I certainly credit the knee braces with at least assisting with this outcome.
Hence my recommendation to wear the best knee braces you can afford every time you put your boots on.

I had a knee reconstraction and then bought 2 CTi knee braces. They were $1200 for the pair. But they are VERY poorly made, They have delaminated, and are falling appart. They came with a "life time warranty" from the NZ distrubuter, but they would not replace one of them under warranty. The new ones do not come with a life time warrnty now. They are cheap rubbish, DO NOT BUY CTi knee braces.

LOL. Thats bullshit. CTi are the best you can get. Have a look through all the photos of pro MX/Enduro riders online. You'll see probably about 70% of them have CTi stickers plastered on their helmets. Pro's tend to use the best. Darryl King's Yamaha team all use them and he swears by them.

Maybe you got a bad batch?

whittle, how much did you pay for them lol? the custom ones are 2.5k for one lol. Dont tell me you paid 5k on knee braces... Are the off the shelf ones or did you have to get them measured up by a specialist to fit?

No sticker is too expensive. What's on their knees may be something else entirely.

2 Chinese Jongshins (Jincheng?) finished the Dakar. They were WR450's with Jongshin stickers.

I dont think pro riders would be advertising something they do not use. Whats the point in that?

Money Vazza they pay for the advertising space on the bike so the rider can race, it doesn't necessarlily mean they use the stuff.
There has been some interesting stories out of V8 supercars over the years Ie Shell cars using Castrol oil or mobil etc! (or visa versa) can't quite remember so don't quote me!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Yeh I am aware that goes on. But I highly doubt it with the CTi equipment.

CTI Custom made ones are the best made, no question asked, prob about 60 to 70% of the professional riders would use them, the off the shelf ones are pretty good, i had a set for 8 years with no problems, but for the money i would by the asterix ones, they are owned by the same people wiht asterix being the mx brand, and CTI more aimed at professional health,

My PODMX (prev model) are not very old and they already have two cracks in the top carbon fibre part...I have had a few offs but don't remember anything significant involving that knee. I don't know if it is a quality issue but when something that is designed to absorb impacts breaks there is not much chance of the supplier being willing to fix it. The broken part is the only bit I can't find spare parts for!
