And for all you heathens who don't have a kickstart I'm getting closer to being converted. Flip I hope your "Uncle Flip's Kickers" are at least in the planning stage because the Baby Guzzi is looking like it might be a starter, so to speak.

    Now give me heaps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not bloody likely. I love the idea of your Guzzi, V2's rock my world don't you know that. What model are you looking at?

The Mk1 Kickers might just be a stick on flatty. My workshop is full with bits for a new bike trailer at the moment.

I don't mind riding in bad weather actually, helps to be on a 350kg motorcycle. I think I was born in a storm.
Hey "Old Grasshopper" how dare you tell the truth about my home town.

Summit road sounds like a starter, and as for the way you ride your beloved Harley, I have to pedal very quickly at times not to fall too far behind.

Would a Saturday be a better day during the winter????? I must confess I have come to rather enjoy the company of our regular WNRers and am not looking forward to being without you lot over the winter.

If someone has a good Idea to enable us to continue our activities over the winter I am a definate starter (or kickstarter)
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

As I said it's the "baby Guzzi" the v40 ie 400cc. I quite like the idea of the v50 but the ones ex Japan are mostly junk I'm told.

Saturday would be a better day. I did not want to clash with the maintenance evenings if they are on this year.

Would you be a starter for the Brass Monkey? I go almost every year. Only missed one year in the last 22 because I was overseas. I always have a backup plan involving a big 4WD. Hell I'm an engineer I don't take a dump without a backup plan.

Love the idea of the V40. How long before it becomes a classic 40yo for rego reasons?

You watch or read too much Tom Clancy!!!!!!!! Sign of a misspent youth!!!!!!

I'm off on Saturdays (lets face it I'm off most days) so I'm keen. I'm also off Wednesdays and would like to do the Wednesday nights.

The Brass Monkey sounds too cold for my delecate disposition. (Interpret as weak minded, comfort loving, woosey, old wimp!!!) So I think I might have to work that weekend. (Week minded, comfort loving, woosey old wimp).

Anyway none of my bikes have the carrying capacity of your "three ton truck"!!!!!!!!

Yep, me too. If it were a daytime thing, or afternoon rather, on the Saturday then I'd be keen. I work in the evenings and would have to be home by about 5 or 6.
I'll keep my Wednesdays free for the maintenance evenings too, if they're going ahead again. I was bummed out I had to work Weds last year.

That sounds like a plan, although if we can convince Wofman to open up the garage then I'll be stripping down my Katana each Wednesday night.

As for Saturdays this sounds good. I also like the fact that you think it should be Saturday not Sunday.

I'm the opposite here "Old Grasshopper" (blame Gloplg for that one) I love Harleys and hate corners, perhaps we could swap!?

Sounds good, I like this idea as well. I enjoyed riding pillion through the winter, the weather was actually not that bad!

Yeah the old open fires weren't the best , Greymouth on a winters nite with all the coal smoke , reminds me of christchurch long ago sometimes whem I'm over there . Poor insulation and type of houses built here earlier on don't help much either .

Like the idea of a afternoon run in winter , rather be tinkering away in the garage rather than on the bike on a winters nite.

Everybody should have at least one 3 ton truck some time.

I enjoy the Brass, its not the destination. It's the adventure I have getting there. We have gone there via Bluff in a snow storm. Have ridden over the Hast just after a blizzard. Have taken 4 days to get down there form Wellington, it was the week the Kaikora road fell into the sea.
We never plan to ride more than 5 hours in a day and on some days it can take us ages to get anywhere. Like the year it was -14 C and we broke camp and rode slowly into Alexander. One of the others girl friends on the back was sooo cold she couldn't get off the bike so we stayed there for a night. It actually warmed to -2 that day. The next day we rode slowly to Dunedin and stayed there before coming back up the coast to Chch.

So what are we doing this week? I feel like I read something about summit road, or was that for another week? I'd like to go to Diamond Harbour. Haven't been there in donkey's. But I don't really care, as long as I'm riding my bike

Having come the conclusion after a couple of recent non-WNR group rides that I'm actually fairly antisocial/self conscious while I ride, I think I'd really enjoy the "head here & say hello" bit over the winter - get there at your own rate, still have a reason to get out... Saturday afternoons would be good.

And you'd have an excuse to get that Guzzi...
He who shall go stately at the back and not stress out.
So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...
