I think it takes about 75 minutes from Pram to Ashhurst so to allow time for a quick coffee stop in Shannon I suggest we meet in Waikanae at the coffee kiosk at the north end of town and leave there by 8am (Tony and Shane are both from Waikanae)

Any late arrivals can catch up at Ashhurst

    does that sound ok?

I will be there at the coffee kiosk at 8am with tent and cooker on board.

Hey GPS. Call in to my place on the way through Dannevirke. I'll PM my address. I'll be leaving here about 8.40. Doesn't sound like anyone's meeting at Woodville, so we'll be able to blast through to Ashhurst.

If you get here earlier, I'll even make you a coffee. It's about 70min from Taradale to Dannevegus down Highway 50.

My tyres are shot also, so you'll have some competition for skids.

Looks like a ride I cant afford to miss....
Thanks to Stormtrooper for kicking my arse into getting along for this one!
Even the girlfriend thinks I need to go - and its her birthday on Saturday!!! (should I be getting suspicious....hey! JMJ's not going now either....hmm....Pretty sure she doesnt like KTM's....or does she?...)

Anyway, I'm gonna have to think carefully about how I load up the DR650, small tank range means extra 5L can bungy tied on as well as a tent and tin of beans! How are you managing the DR tank dilema Bart?

Good on ya Gav. She'll have another birthday next year.

I've got the 18 litre IMS tank on mine. Get about 280km to reserve. Carrying a small fuel can isn't too bad. Just transfer it through to the bike tank as soon as you can.

All sounds good, thanks for giving her a nice birthday treat - what a pal!

Oh, presume that you will fit a child seat on the back for an 18month old, and a good supply of nappies (The KTM hard parts catalogue lists most things!). Seeing as its her B'day its your turn to change em!

I think that Leanne deserves a medal for letting me out to play for her birthday weekend, as well as baby sitting Tom and JMJ for her Birthday!

    Ha Ha!

    Just playing with some numbers...
Only getting 170-180kms on a tank with Current muffler / jetting etc, extra 5 litres plus extra weight means I better bring a length of tube for siphoning as well!

    - or stop riding like a twat!

Tony will also be there on a stock tanked DR so you can have races to see who runs out first

You'll be alright. Most of the riding is fairly open, so shouldn't be too hard on the fuel economy thing......unless you sit on 140 all the way.
