I agree patty, people are dumb, basically.
I see plenty of people come into work that I want to smack in the forehead & say "What the fuck are you thinking". It erks me when riders buy a high quality helmet & ride off with a t-shirt & runners on. I'm not always the safest either. I used to wear an open face when the ex & I were on the harley & I'll probably wear jeans from time to time. (me)

Maybe they think the less clothing they have on the more likely car drivers will see them? Bet 99% of the hetero male population of drivers would notice/see a naked woman riding a bike. (Even us women drivers would perv at naked bloke on a bike, well, most likely we would...)

I had to get the non/wave down pat. Did I look good, grusom? It's all about the image you know
Mind you, I did flip the bird at my riding instructor yesterday... they called it road rage... I called it maneuver intent

I wonder how many people I annoy on any given sunny weekend. In the last month I have had the stern word/gestures from the fuzz twice, once there was some wild waving because I was in t-shirt, shorts and trainers and once during a spot licence/wof/reg check I got a lecture for not having gloves (they were in my backpack). I am not anti over it, I know they are telling me because it is what they think is best, but somedays you gotta taste the rush of going gearless (or maybe just not being your own sauna on a motorcycle).

I understand how tempting it is. Like I said, I went 21yrs with an open face, probably will again sometime. I grew up on the back of bikes wearing an open face, T-shirt, jeans, sometimes a skirt or leggins, laceup boots & no gloves. I have all the good stuff now. But we are all responsible for ourselves. I had a big off when I was young. Luckily wearing a full face. Did my back in, but there was no insert back protection for my jacket back then.
So buy a vented jacket & gloves if you can. Better then nothing.
I know I can't ride (pillion) with a few mates unless I'm wearing my leathers. Which is far enough too.

I rode to the beach the other weekend in helmet, bikini & sneakers, is that close enough?
