The best I ever got was 34 km/l out of my GN250 on a trip from Auckland to Masterton. In comparison, my GS500 averages around 22.5 km/l, which is significantly better than what my KR150 used to manage.

From the sounds of things thats pretty horrendous. Any ideas on what I can do to improve it? Tuning carbs maybe?

Have seen 10l per 100km on a V6 work Commodore on a lot more than one occasion.

My CBR250R does around 4.5-5.5L/100km, depending on how I ride it.

yeah but thats pretty much it. 5Litre V8 commodore couldnt do that, well anything near that to save its life.

and i know fuel consumption lol, my 3.7L Inline 5 engine does about 6-7km per L.

the biker however is quite happy with anything between 25-30.

It sure can. the trip computer shouldnt lie. I can drive to Hamilton from Wellington and get 9.8L/100km...2003 SV8..remember....its only doing 1600 RPM at 100 km/h!! Not even working. OK...If I push it, I can get 13L/100 K/m

Our 3.8V6 Commie gets better consumption figures (according to the dash readout) at 120kph than it does at 100. Go figure. Of course, it averages out over a tank. On a trip, we get something like 650+kms to a tank (60lt)
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Hells bells my HD does 6 to 6.5 l/100km or 16.7 to 15.4 km/l on the open road.

Don't know what it really does round town even my commute is mostly at 100km/hr.
