Well...what an eventful day!! I still feel like an arse for spilling oil everywhere. Was gutted for Bren. Apparently it was very spectacular though, so at least I'm good entertainment.

Yes you were, I was standing directy opposite where Quentin ended up, the only thing that suprised me was that it took so long for someone to hit his bike

First of all a huge thank you to Buddha for looking after my bike for the last week and taking it to Methven for me.
Thunder and I went down on Friday afternoon to stay the night in Methven. Had a nice evening with Dangerous, Rashika and Torren, also caught up with a few others.. I had a great nights sleep and got up bright and early on race day. The nerves didn't set in till riders briefing, I hadn't raced since BOB in december last year! The practice was OK, I was taking it slow and easy - that first corner is a bitch!!!
it was great to see so many spectators throughout the day, lots of friends came down from chch. Apparently Iameasy to find - distinctive laugh?? There was lots of carnage and delays, but we got 2 races in, I was always last, but I stayed upright. Thunder was a lap scorer for the day as he is not allowed to race for another 3 months.
Thel ovely fireliv took fantastic photos for me, someofwhich I have posted. Rollon next week - South Island Cup Timaru.

Well, mmm wot to say, very eventful, great day out, not sure about the feelings that I am left with after the day. Farking ouch, was a first, and something of an experience. Practice on the RD was dusty and hair raising, turn one was somthin else!!!!, turn 2 had lots or potential for more speeed, turns 3 and 4, nice S bend, turn 5 was cool, though on the bucket the rear would twitch a little, and turn 6 into the start finish chioce.
Both practices had me sweatin, it was work for sure, but smile's on the face non less. !st race, remained in front of dangerous, which had me happy. The day out there was awesome, sunny, warm and great crowd watching the show. That first turn on either the RD or the bucket was a tricky one, trying to leave the brakes as late as poss' without getting up someones jaxy.

Now I have never crashed on me bikes road or track, but seen plenty of carnage around me. The bails sure made the circuit nice and intimate, but no doubt awesome for the spectators.
I was lovin the bucket and was on the tail of some fella, through the S's and into turn 5, with my aim of getting past at the pin. before I knew it the bike and I were getting all cosy with hay. I felt like I went doof, but Mrs Bullet was watchin me tumble and it was more DOOF doof dof. I remember seeing the sky and thinking Mmmm. aside from that, I wanted to get to the bike, a fire fella came over and wanted to get it up right, standing with me back to the bales was a little scary, there was no slowing in the bikes coming around... yellow flag out???? no idea. fire guy jumped on bails and I did the same. Ole Phxgtr came round the corner at good pace and crunch and a huge wobble!! great work in stayin on there!!!!
I had a nice wee chat to a lady about I did not realy want to be on this side of the bales. heard the red flag got pulled out, and recovered me mess. The exaust is more aerodinamic, the foot peg a little bent, and fork a little munted. Me? well I must have hit the shoulder on the tar first... them me hip, and oposing elbow., Did not hurt much then, but bloody tender now.
Got one more race on the RD, the bucket was out of comission.
All in all a great day, kinda gutted I had a tip that ended up with further drama's

Me daughter drew a picture which is a great rendition of my performance, very sad, but I am sure some may enjoy, will post up once I get it scanned.

Slowly adding more pics into http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/al...p?albumid=3413. Sorry I don't know who everyone is so.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
    Wish you were here. QWQ

And here is the pic, She did a great one, though one correction... I had no tears, and I was wearing protective gear at the time. She is only 7 though.
The bike is the right way round, and Phxgtr struck the right side bar pretty damn hard.

Well i had a day with mixed results. I too am surprise about the quality of product CAMs and Methven Lions have put togeather for their fist year......Yes some improvements would be needed for the next one but thats part of life.......learning.

I was happy with the first part of the Motard Practice, but 2/3rds into practice outside the Blue Pub my front brake lever pull to the bar with no warning, I quickly released and grabbed the front again and with the rear locked and only minimal front brackes over shot turning onto the main straight and pulled up with only cm to spare from being imbedded in a large square hay bale. Back at the pits i set to replacing the front fluid.

The bucket practice went well and felt ok, Kickaha told me afterward that Bren DC and I seem to have the best pace of the feild.

Motard race one, gridded up at the back of the field and got a good start and decided to push it along and see how the front brake stood up. the race was red flagged due to a pile up on the start line. the race was restarted and i ran in the back 1/3 of the field and felt the front brake fading so backed off and finished with little to no front brakes.

Bucket Race one, Gridded up on the front row and got a good start went into turn one in third and Glen Haward had a big moment and used me as a pin ball and we both stayed upright I ran in third for a couple of laps watching DC and Bren drawing away. I muffed the hairpin badly which let Glen through a couple of moe laps and we came onto the start finish straight to find Bren having a lie down. the race was red flagged and on count back I had a 4th. pretty happy with that considering who had finished behind me.

Motard Race two, much of the same but once again like practice I lost the front backs with no warning and parked it in the run off area outside the blue pub and waited for the finish of the race.

Bucket Race two, got a good start again and put my head down and got two turn one in third behind DC and Glen, I didnt feel as comfortable this time and soo found myself under pressure from Tony Mac and DD, Left my braking as late as possible into the hairpinand kept my position the next lap from knoware Dan O passed me and with a large gap back to the next pce I backed off and finished in 4th again.

Looking forward to the First round of the South Island Cup next weekend at Levels!
