Is this going to be more wet bus ticket time? Probably.

Jail would be good for these two little scrotes.

They appear in the Alexandra District court on April the 14th so hopefully we will see what the sentence is.

Not defending them but, does this mean that If I see someone doing what I consider dangerous I can stop them and the Police will charge them on my hearsay?

A member of the public was so concerned he managed to stop one of the vehicles and keep the man talking until police arrived, who later also found the second vehicle

I commend the guy. Someone stood up and did something. There was a man who would not take it.

My impression of this website is that as soon as someone makes a stand about reckless or dangerous driving or riding the knives come out. Along the lines of "You'r a Nana" or "You'r not the boss of me" etc etc. The roads are public and anyone driving or riding around a blind corner should have the 100 percent certainty that some clown isn't going to be on his side of the road.

If those idiots in Alexandra had killed a motorcyclist(s) or a young family the hand-wringing would start. As far as I'm concerned they are criminals, not just bad lads who happened to get a bit silly with their driving

some would say they are just boys being boys, so many different opinions but at the end of the day these young men put lives in danger by their driving. Hope they had fun as I'm sure their driving days are over for a while. Just wish the law would sell their vehicles and use the money for better roads!

It's not your heresay, it's your observation as a witness. If you say the guy crossed the centreline, it's a bit better evidence than "I thought he was doing about 150 km/h" and it's no different to you saying "I saw that guy punch that other guy in the head". And based on your own experience as a road user and especially since you spend your time testing vehicles on a road, I'd be listening to what you say over many others frankly.

"Wet bus ticket" no doubt, our countries justice system cant be bothered finding the guilty party when 5 co-offenders (my belief) decide to shut up shop and say nothing after killing 2 children.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. appreciated.

I just wonder about someone making bogus or 'revenge' complaints - say a domestic gone sour or something.

Unless it involves 'boy racer' type activity, then the cops and courts go all out to punish those people to the full extent of the law.

Cops and courts are vastly different things, personally i feel sad for the cops to be honest, they do what there told to do and in many cases the court hands out a sentence which no doubt makes em think why the fuck did i bother.Do you honestly believe when a cop wakes up in the morning he whilst having breakfast says to himself "im gonna fuck up a boy racers life today"?Cops do what there told to do,simple really. No point in shooting the messenger eh.

Most cops are good, but a mate of mine has had a very bad experience recently. He's not a 'boy racer', his car is not modified at all except for a set of lowering springs and he was driving down the road one day, and he lost a bit of traction coming out of an intersection. He got to a pub and someone got out of a car and said "I'm an off duty police officer and I saw you do a burnout". Not long after that, a marked patrol car showed up, followed by a tow truck. His car got impounded for 28 days and he got charged with sustained loss of traction. That cop was clearly out to get him for no real reason. I know my mate very well and I know for a fact that he doesn't sit there doing massive skids with one foot on the brake and the other foot on the throttle.
