True, I could perhaps get away with only doing the inside.

Also - haven't done any FG but would guess it's like normal body-bog when it comes down to it - it's a glue, if you put glue over an unstable/weak layer (the paint!) with nothing to "key" to then eventually they'll separate. Would also guess that epoxy on some plastics will never be strong; you might be up for checking if wiring (drill holes & recessing channels into **outside** of the panel, spanning the crack, so you can run wires to lace-up the crack - tight on the dressy side, so they can go in under the bog/filler, loose on the back so the epoxy can have something to set around) ... all depends on the panel in question!! (And you could end up making it too strong and getting stress elsewhere, who knows).
Great idea! dunno how much of it will show through, it'll be hard to completely cover threads on the outside.

Might have some generic info on it, are you along on Weds?
Wasn't able to make it this week (or last week for that matter), but I plan on coming to the next one.

Extra: try Google "fibreglass diy repair"

(but http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0204_body/ is very comprehensive on repairing plastic ABS covers!!)
Thanks for all the great advice!

That's why you countersink them into slots on the "trim" side, so your body filler can cover them... diagrams & finger puppets on Weds night??

Finally worked out today why my bike has been making a god awful crunching noise and yet having no problems running or changing gears. Bloody chain is loose, really loose. I'll give the bike a wash this week and come along Wednesday. Are there tools available for such a simple task or will I need to bring some? which I don't have.

Pretty sure we can find you a spanner or two. Maybe even a socket.

Turn up on Wednesday night and dont be afraid to get your hands dirty and we will have your bike going better than new in no time.

Hey Spuds, I've finally got the forks repaired on the Kat, now I just need to put her all back together and hope that worn bearing noise I heard was just my imagination!

Love the avatar by the way. "More Cowbell!"

Its in Sol Square- You access it off a alley way on Mancester street- Just past the Litchfield street/mancester street intersection. Can park bikes right outside off that alley way.
