Personally, having recently got a full HD Samsung 40", hooking it up to Freeview (and going from normal bunny ears) was plenty for me. Not to mention the impractical side of having to use the glasses. Freeview HD is fine for me

TV prices have plummeted over the last few months, My $1600 TV had a $3500 price tag on it, and even at that price was dirt cheap 6 months ago.

I know someone who spent 8 grand ona TV that I would rank slightly worse then mine.....

Being 3D doesn't alter the fact that the content is shit.

Why pay twice as much and wear stupid glasses to watch an extra dimension of utter crap.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

HD is but a dream, we operate an I have no idea how old, clunking box, no flat screen moderness in this house hold.

Imagine our delight to be in a store with all the latest technology. Went into the little booth with the demo 3D screen, put on the glasses and stared at the screen. I said to Maha, this looks out of focus to me, he muttered something about moving backgrounds creating 3D effect or something. I left the demo spot feeling a bit superior actually, 3D is rubbish and all that sort of thing.

Hanging in the TV department imagining what it might be like to actually own one of these high def TV's let alone a flat screen and I caught a demo on how 3D works. I grabbed Maha back to the demo area and helped him put on his glasses, apparently you have to push a button to turn them on
So we saw 3D and we left the store with our flybuys purchased frying pan still dreaming flat screen but totally convinced 3D is not for us

I have a question. How the hell do you use these new fandangled 3D glasses if you already wear glasses to see?

Me too. As cool as it is, it'd be fucken annoying watching t.v like that all the time, plus your screwed if your mates/family come over, and you do'nt have 900million dollars worth of glasses for everyone to be able to watch it.

Curiosity was framed; ignorance killed the cat

Fix a computer and it'll break tomorrow.
Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.

And that is why I still have one too, it shows moving pictures and produces sound. That's all I need out of a TV.

Personally, I will never fork out the thousands to get into the coming craze.
$120 for a pair a glasses!!....if you are a family of six, theres $720 right there!

They showed the State of Origin in 3D last night in Aussie, a one off I would imagine. But those that watched it will probably rush out and spend.....suckers!
Only DVD's will be avaliable in 3D here in NZ, regular programming is a while away yet.

While its pretty cool, its a big na from me.
Whats sort of dork would you feel sitting at home wearing special glasses while watching TV?
You thought finding the remote was a pain in the arse?
Wait till you have to find or fight over the glasses

See to me, if you want 3d you have to be immersed in the experience. If shit ain't flying at ya and around ya, there's no point. Meaning if you really want to experience 3d you have to buy a big fuck off set (easily 60+ inch for some lounges). Or sit 3 feet away from a 40 inch.

Personally I think it's dumb that you have electronic glasses. They should have worked out a way so you could just use el cheapo's like the movie theaters.

I think 3d is making film makers lazy. Instead of doing great stories, they throw in spiders jumping out at ya just to make you jump so you forget about the crap story lines.

I wonder what Origin looked like in 3d. I think sport would be the best for 3d.
