    Pezzz is a legend

I reckon this sort of thing will make a great gravel road sweeper.

The manual says keep below 4,000rpm for the first 800km, 6,000rpm until 1,500km and 10,000rpm from then after.

    It's only done 800km since 1981.

Possibly a bit of dirt and some burnouts when it was stolen though.

I may have to use the DR front end after all.
Just measured up and the DR swingarm is 5mm wider and 100mm longer than the GSX one.

    Mmmmmmm....
DR brakes instead of twin single pot fronts and drum rear....

    OMG!!!

    The bugger fits (sorta).

Oh dear, looks like I'm going to have to use the DR front end and a high guard...

Mounted up the 650 front end to the 400 today.

It works better brakes and height wise but the steering stem will need replacing with something that suits the bearings for the 400.
Also makes it look more old school and the skinnier uppers mean more turning before hitting the tank..

    Photos to come.

Just a thought.......... but could you not swap the stem over ?
I know a couple of guys on the BIG forum have put new/machined up 750/800 stems into ktm/wr or wp front forks

Was thinking of that but will ask Shane which route would be easier.

If I actually had a GSX stem to play with it'd be easier.

The DR stem could possibly be made to fit with a bit of work too but it may be easier to make up a new stem to suit the ID and length of the GSX bearings.

Googl KLR fork swap for some ideas on which way to go. For some reason its a popular thing to do. Can't think why.
