The press release states that the descrition has been lowered to 4km from ten, there will not be police writting tickets, there will be same number as there always has been but then i wouldn't have thorught you would grasp this consept.

It isn't their policy, it is law, and as has been shown time and again, without it things would be much worse. They tend to ignore the authority when it suits them. Some of them do a fantastic job. Most of them do a good job, despite the morons that they have in charge. The dodgiest people I knew in school all became cops. All ex-cops I know now are among the dodgiest people I know - always a scam going somewhere.

When I was visiting Melbourne, and enjoying some vendor hospitality, we were unable to find a restaurant after pissing up at an AFL game. The vendor I was with rocked up to a couple of Victoria's finest and asked for directions. I was frikken mortified, half expecting to be cuffed and batoned (we were walking). The cop had a good old laugh and directed us to the right place. I have experienced similar in the USA, there is no way I would approach an NZ cop like that, they are just too staunch for words.

Yep well without reading the pages and pages of love hate ...welll maybe no love cops have a hard job sometimes and they also do a fantastic job most of the time.....but highway patrol cops are more my concern. 50/50 at the moment in my book. Had mainmly good experiences with them until this last weekend.
