k's are high. Its worth about 5.5K in my mind. If you go off the k's its halfway through its life.

I had a mechanical check done which was all positive, I asked mechanic about k's and was told 150,000k's is when it will start to go blunt, which is fine by me.

Huh?! 54k km's in 10 years sounds like bugger all to me. Price looks pretty fair, lot of bike for that money.

That's nothing... there are many Jap 250's and 400 from 90- 94 that haven't quite reached that mileage yet.

Km's are irrelevant it's how it's been looked after that counts

Ssshhh! We gotta keep letting these guys think that by 50,000kms these bikes are about to expire. This makes for better bargains for the rest of us who don't want to take the hit from depreciation of buying new. Come to think of it I don't think anyone should keep a bike past 35000km's coz that's just asking for trouble.

Buy 1000rr anywhere from 04 to 07, they are around 8-9k for the chaper ones on TM with half a miles and much better bike...

BTW i think even 20,000k is bit high on bike that has been track raced etc...so yeah 54,000 could be a nightmare if it has just been trashed, wheelied and raced and now its for sale as "well cared for"... no matter how "just" run in the engine is because bike is not just an engine, there is suspension, brakes, bearings, clutch etc. and on 900rr those arent cheap...

Another post sums it up, its not the kay's.I looked at the 1000's and yes they have more power but the 900 is not slow either, in fact I also had a check done on some nice looking 1000's with less k's but mechanic shook is head. The riding position is not as extreme on the 900 either.I have a soft spot for the last of the "real " blades, before they turned into just another 1000.

anyone who's had a few bikes (at least 4) knows that kms are totally irrelevant. It is all about how it has been looked after and that is what you should be looking for.

...but shit, maybe we need to keep quiet and let these idiots keep on buying new bikes and losing half the value! Meanwhile we can not lose a cent on buying ''high mileage'' bikes!
