Well on Saturday I fitted the new stator to the DR250, it ran beaut, sounded great.

Sunday I did a relaibility run to make sure I was going to get my $ worth out of REG and WOF, made it to the MDF plant where it wouldn't start so I pushed it home. Smelling very fuelly, drained the carb last night and had another go at starting it but no joy...The saga continues!

I left the x-country at about 5:15pm and the prize giving was to start at about 6pm.

At 6:30pm they got a call that the rider that got lost in the forest had been found and was being taken out via the Ludd.

Someone got lost. With all the arrows, bunting and marks on the ground from the bikes

You mean I wasn't last back in? When I arrived someone asked the question, "so is that everybody?" but I didn't hear the answer.

Any reason given by the lost rider? Was he trying to find a route back on the roads to avoid a challenging section?
    Cheers,
    Colin

No idea. They'd just found him at 6:30pm.

Shane would have been mildly annoyed

It was the guy just after the 2 concrete fords on the Suzi. He went walkies to see if he could get out and the sweep crew missed him.
He was the mate of the 950 guy.

They didn't get to the 6:00 prizegiving until 7:15

Uh... I stopped to talk to him and catch my breath before tackling that next slippery section. He was all of 250m from the marshals. I nearly said to him that the marshals were left-left-left up the road back around the spur, but didn't know quite how far it was, nor want him to go AWOL - where he was he'd be found!!
    Cheers,
    Colin

Does anyone have a KMZ file of Hurricane Hill, please? I'm trying to build a map of the XC course. Some of the off piste routes are difficult to place by memory, with no hard references on the google earth imagery, but I think I have most of it sussed. Although the eastern-most snotty slick watercourse & clay section I'm not sure at all - could be either side of the airstrip hill, or even further east again!!

    What a hoot!
    Cheers,
    Colin

Got the whole junior and senior tracks but still on the GPS at the moment.

Hurricane Hill is the backslash treeline.

Scout Road (slippery, snotty + muddy river crossing to avoid the big hole) should be the NNW one here...

And the short sharp shortcut after the concrete ford with the suzi parked up at the bottom is the NNE one here...
