Oggy knobs were a good purchase

Crashed my bike for the first time today. Coming down Mt Eden Road, street was cold and slick as shit - had to brake quickly for a stopped car. Brakes locked up, hit white lines with some lean on and the bike just slid out from under me. I put Oggy Knobs on the Bandit (which slid a considerable ways down the road) and the worst that happened was a broken brake lever and scrapes on my muffler. Funnily enough the worst damage to my paintwork was a scuff on the other side of the tank (caused by my foot when I went rolly-polly).

The right hand knob is bent pretty bad though - I was a little concerned that this might have caused a bit of damage to the frame?

Bummer to hear of your off. Hopefully you can learn from it and not have the same thing happen again. If you are concerned about your frame get someone who knows what they are talking about to look at it, don't just rely on the opinions of mates. More than likely it's ok, but no one can diagnose it over the internet.

Thanks! It was definitely a good learning experience. It was completely my fault - I braked too hard on an oily road with stone cold tyres and I learnt the hard way. Plus I was distracted a second beforehand by another car waiting to turn, should've kept my wits about me.

Bike's fine, I'm pretty bruised up but all in all it could've been far worse. Just feel stupid because it was avoidable and I think I spooked the shit out of the people at the bus stop!

Where are yours fitted? I have sometimes wondered about seeing if I can fit some to my bandit given that it's gone nigh-nighs on the ground half a dozen times since we bought it (only one road accident though, which was bad enough that I don't want to repeat the experience!)

They make different ones for different bikes. The bike shops should be able to show you. They're not cheap, but definitely worth purchasing........... but I still need to do that too

I poked around a little and it doesn't look like there are a specific model for the 650 Bandits. Maybe give them an email and see if the 1200 knobs are suitable for the mid-size Bandit as well.
