    Taupo road race spectacular 2010

This event is definitely on everyone. The Pacific Motorcycle Club has applied for the permit.

This is the latest reply on a thread I found.

    The event is definitely on
I hope to have the permit number tomorrow
If I do, the entry form will be on our web site tomorrow night and we will be distributing entry forms at the winter series on Saturday.

I am also hoping to have the entries for the Bike Rider Magazine Summer Series ready tomorrow I am just waiting to see if the alternative date I am planning for round 4 will work.
Otherwise it will be a 3 round series

I will put a note on here as well

    .

Thanks for the heads up.......... Here is a link to the entry form, we will be getting Team ESE's paperwork away Monday.... http://pacclub.co.nz/press/wp-conten...-race.doc1.pdf

There is an F5 and F4 GP with 150 Street Stock and Buckets combined for the other races........

Also there is a note on the entry form saying this is an opportunity for buckets to show their stuff, as if they are doing us a special favor???? or don't expect many buckets, seems a bit redundant seeing we were the biggest race class with an over subscribed grid last year.

Buckets combined with Street Stocks, the grid is going to fill up fast, get your entry in, cant wait, its going to be fun screwing SS's over, or at least trying too.

$150 entry and $30 for each extra class. Enter two classes and you must have two different bikes.....

You can direct debit over the net.........I have already payed my entry fee.

So when is the NZ F5 gp am I missing somthing

    2010 Battle of the Buckets
    Including the 50cc NZ GP

    NZ F4 & F5 G.P.:TRRS
We are again running the F4 & F5 (buckets)Spectacular. F5 race on the Monday afternoon and
F4 race on the Tuesday morning.
Rules as per chapter 24 in rulebook.
F4 & F5 race distance to be advised (dependent on entries). Practices will be combined. This is
a major meeting and a great chance for buckets to show off their class

The NZ50cc GP is not the F5 GP, the NZ50cc GP is open to any 50cc bike competition based or not which means those that are not F5 Bucket eligible

The reason I left in the bit about a chance for buckets to show their stuff is, if there is a lot of bucket entries, like last year, I would rather run heats than tell people they can't enter because we are full up.
Who knows, maybe we will have to combine some other classes so there is enough time to run all of the buckets

that also puts me off. I am slow, and if it means I get one "race", I'd rather not spend another $150 for me to enter. Sorry, but that's a shit load of money if there's not much time for me on the track.
Not trying to put a dampner on it, or your theory, but it will be something for me to consider - I'll be heading down anyway, 'twas a great event last year.

Shame MNZ had to get pushy about increasing the entry fees and how much more they could gouge out of it for themselves to the point it pissed the original organizers off...........

However it goes, I am glad that someone has picked it up and the TRRS is going to run again, a big thanks to Nigela and the Pacific Club.

And no thanks to MNZ for butting in on a successful format that worked well...........

    I'm with you M.
I have raced in the F4 at the last two TRRS's and have had a blast!!!
I am a rear-pack-dweller, but I can guarantee that I'm having just as much fun out there as the guys and gals who are leading the pack.
But anyway, if qualifying is what you're essentially talking about, then please let us know definitely as I was just about to pay and send in my entry form, and may have to also reconsider spending $150 for a couple of qualifying races.

I am not sure you can do that?
    The entry form states:

Once 40 entries per class have been received, we will take reserves that can practice, but will only race if 40 do not take the grid in each
race (as some people don’t turn up, or breakdown, or worst case – have crashed).

So everyone that has paid and is in the first 40 bikes gets to race all the races. That's the same format as the last few years and it seems to work.

I was on the reserve list last year and was told that if there was no room in buckets I would be tacked onto the back of the SS feild, I was cool with that since I'd still get to wobble around. This was after the SS were split out due to the number of bucket entries. End of the day there was room in buckets in any case.

I understand what you are saying; but I personally feel the way it has been run the last few years on a first in first served basis is the better way. That way everyone pays the same entry and gets the same track time for there money.

And besides I cant think of anyone that has really wanted to race this event that has missed out. I know the feilds have been full but give the time of the year and the associated costs I really dont think you are going to be getting any Bucket fields larger than those you have gotten in the past.

Just my $0.02, I know the struggle asociated with putting on big events and juggling everyones opinions vs the realities of the situations. I have unfinished business so I will be there no matter what.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

I think people aren't understanding what I mean.
If you pay your entry you will get the same amount of races weather you are fastest or the slowest just like at a bucket meeting where A, B, or even C grade always have the same amount of races.
I certainly wouldn't expect anyone to pay that much to do 1 race and be told they aren't good enough. (otherwise I would never have more than one race at a meeting myself)
Depending on entries we could have heats 1st then from those times you could qualify to go in the fastest group or the second fastest.
The only drawback I can see so far is if you have a really bad practice you could wind up in the second group when you normally be in the fastest
But so far I can't think of a better way around it.
