RS250s aren't that cheap! 500 for new tyres, 30 for 1L FS 2 stroke oil every 1000km, plus it consumes petrol like a +600cc bike.

Well ya have a few choices

Vote em out and make sure the incoming , will remove the Tax ( no one seems to be saying this ,least I haven't heard from labor or the greens )

Protest until its removed ,( NZ , non starter ,,,)

Dont pay until pinged

Yeah, but in comparison to a big bike, sticky tyres last forever. Totally agree about the petrol and fully synth though... doesn't go far in a two stroke.

Currently I own four vehicles:

I have been adding up what costs are going to hit me now to keep them registered and stay using them on the road!

A Motorcycle. (955i Tiger) $517.25
A small (diesel) 2ltr 4x4 truck. $583.81 (which I use mostly off road)
A small station wagon. $281.61
A light trailer. $35.12
Registration total = $1417.79
Add on insurance and six monthly warrant of fitness checks? $$$!

56 years as licensed driver, two serious accidents (bike) totally my fault, one requiring an X-ray and a little Physiotherapy, nothing on the other, no other vehicles involved.

Back in the fifties I hit a pile driving truck that failed to give way and had no lights on in a narrow Petone street, very messy but other than hurrying, not my bloody fault!

Income, national superannuation and small (now very shaky) savings investment returns.

My solution other than selling them all and walking everywhere with my zimmer is:

Sell my motorcycle and quit riding motorcycles forever!
Place the diesel 4x4 truck registration on hold and leave it on the farm where I use it.
Replace 2x4 station wagon with a more universally suitable small (petrol) 4x4 vehicle.
Keep the trailer as is.

Revamped total annual registration (approximately) $316.73 - saving = $1101.06

They put ACC levy up, raise gst, will try to cut wages, then they cant understand why we cant save $$$$ for retirement. Dont forget the first thing they did when they took over was a salery increase for themselves
