Got fine this Afternoon. Went for a hoon to Mercer for food. Roads dry, grip good. Roll on Summer.

We had a glorious Canterbury day, we took a ride to the Hurunui pub for lunch and then home...sun shining, birds singing.... yummmmmm.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message.

Gladius is a nice bike......... I'm sure, but not anything on the Trumpy 675, I'm not biased, oh alright I am, but who cares, Triumph's Rule lol....

Some mean deals on Trademe, and you can get finance online from all the providers if you need it.

Owh, by the way, Weather in Aucks is always CRAP!

    Auckland is crap.

but, anyway, was thinking, a 'real' biker/bike person wouldn't really care about the weather would they?
Isn't it all about the ride?
    The thrill?
    Fulfilling ones passion?
    Finding ones 'zone'?
My first two weeks of riding it rained so hard, my leathers didn't dry out for about a month, did I care, not much, it was just about the ride.
Then there are those sane ones that travel hundreds of miles in freezing temperature for the Brass Monkey...they certianly do not care what the weather is doing, they off for the thrill.....explorers facing a challenge.....hmmmm. I love my bike!

Rode with 7 other bikes (2 with pillions) from Tauranga, across the Kaimais, down passed the Okoroire turnoff and on to Putaruru, then across through Arapuni and over the dam and on to Bryces Cafe. Nice bacon and egg pie and a flat white for lunch, sitting outside on the deck in the sunshine, then rode back pretty much the same way.

There was a bit of low cloud above us as we crested the Kaimais, it got a bit overcast later on and the clouds got fairly dark a couple of times, we rode over a short patch where there'd been a light spatter of the wet stuff some time earlier but it cleared just for lunch. More trouble with one or two of the intersections where there were patches of shingle close to the centre line. But all in all it was a fantastic day.

IMO, it is not the rain that bothers me, it is the appalling condition of our roads. The very, treacherous slippery patches that seem to be everywhere, take the joy out of the ride.
And I do not live in Auckland. And I don't think Tink Does either.

I know the slippery patches are not pleasant....but they're there to keep you sharp....I kinda think it adds to the challenge. If the road was perfect all the way, no grit, no wet, no slippage, the ride would become boring. Not that I want anyone to low side it, but all the little nasties on the road 'need' to be there to keep us alert. The road is like life and if life was plain sailing all the way......then where is the learning? Where is the challenge? Where is the experience?

    lol Ok
Well actually...I'm planning on doing a running jump off a very big hill before the year ends. My mother asked my yesterday if I was doing my "bucket list".

I'm not ....but I have just started living after years of exsisting. I too have some offspring and as I'm raising them alone I'm not as loose as I once was but....I still want to experience something
